The concept of an Avenyan state first appeared in early February of 2026, that's when the '''Provisional Government of South Archipelagia''' (PGSA) was founded, centered on the old town of '''Eźrop'ort''' (''Эз́ропëрt''), the government quickly took control of its claimed territories and proceeded to start laying foundations for a more permanent solution. On 11th February, PGSA announced the following:<blockquote>Today, at 5pm local time, the council that administered what became known as "South Archipelagia" declared that the regency period is over and from now on, the nation shall be known as хакњѥство Авэнꙗмав (hakňestvo Aven'amav, eng.: principality of Avenyam). As consolidation and centralization efforts began to reach their goals, a permanent government can now exert control over all of its dominions and begin functioning on the international stage.

Our nation is looking forward to cooperating with other states and will soon open up alliance negotiations, our economy is growing steadily and will in no time guarantee prosperity to all citizens. Plans for a capital city are currently being drafted and are going to begin their initial phases in the following weeks.</blockquote>Shortly after the announcement, construction efforts for the (now capital) '''city of Amužarđ''' began coming to life, along with the collection of necessary resources. New projects consisted infrastructure efforts across the nation as well, including the constriction of several major roads, bridges and ports in particular the Avenyan trail, connecting the northernmost and southernmost points of the country (Eźrop'ort and Amužarđ).

Eventually, Amužarđ became the new center of public interest and the seat of the Royal Advisory Council, it was soon to be titled as the new capital city, which heavily troubled the northern regions of Avenyam, as they no longer held much significance, significant public unrest followed.

Eventually, the company of '''[[Avenyan Airways]]''' was founded, the first (now scrapped) line was constructed but deemed too dangerous. After several major technological advancements, the first safe line (Oceanic Line) connected B'ǫt'e Hotrevo with the capital. It was later expanded to reach Eźrop'ort and Sandwich Islands as well.

To guarantee the safety of the mainland, a border state (''bažarg̀rev'stvo'' - 'northern margravate') was founded on Hotrevo Ožalav (Eagle Island).

On the night from 24.03.26 to 25.03.26, major protests broke out following the assasination of a Szczupakist preacher in the northern city. <blockquote><big>Ščupakist priest attacked in Eźrop'ort</big>

Earlier today a preacher of Ščupak was violently attacked by a group of Ætérnalist locals which disagreed with the teachings of the not that popular in the far north religion, healthcare specialists are not sure if the victim is going to make it due to how heavy the injuiries are. This is the first time a religious figure was attacked in the city and the event is causing considerable outrage among the population of Amužarđ, which has been a center of Ščupakism ever since it appeared in the country. A prayer is to be held at Nuv'e Bałđmo cathedral to bless the health of the martyred priest as protests erupt in front of government buildings to demand heavy punishments for the offenders. The situation has become a matter of debate in the state; should the verdict be more severe due to the victim being a religious figure? The Royal Advisory Council has planned a meeting to resolve the issue tomorrow.

The procession in Amužarđ amasses more and more followers, as icons of the preacher are being carried along to the cathedral, various shouts directed to non-believers begin to be heard. Pre-emptive calls are being made to cancel the march or limit its size in fear of a riot happening.</blockquote>Shortly after, the news of armed forces mobilizing were made official.<blockquote><big>Hakfiđarđ castle locks gates as the Avenyan military begins to mobilize "just in case"</big>

Units of the B'eźv'e Ardy are called to their posts in the middle of the night in response to Eźrop'ort riots, an official statement from the Department of National Safety cites:

"We will peacefully assert control over the situation, as long as both parties are ready to stand down, no harm shall happen."

Riots in Eźrop'ort show no slowing down, as parts of the crowd seem to begin arming themselves.

The Royal Advisory Council reschedules its planned meeting to happen within a few minutes due to how urgent the matters have turned.</blockquote>Many news outlets quickly picked on the matter due to this being the first instance of the Avenyan military and particularly the Royal Guards regiment, being used against civilians. The '''Santa Cruz Crisis''', also called the '''Santa Cruz-Pua Crisis''', is an ongoing (as of March 21st, 2026) territorial dispute between [[Santa Cruz County]] and [[Pua]], as well as a broader conflict between the federal government of [[Xarslasja]] and its constituent [[Counties of Xarslasja|counties]] following the death of the heirless [[Bezuv]] [[Agamashuya I]].

Maps drawn by the [[United Ŋations]] and [[Un-United Ŋations]] in early 2026 showed some notable confusion as to where the territory of Xarslasja ended and where Pua began, most markedly at the northeastern edge of [[Santa Cruz County]] in an area known as [[Hayden's Ferry]]. Some maps showed all of the Hayden's Ferry area as being part of Pua, while others showed it being varyingly divided or entirely part of Santa Cruz County. While Hayden's Ferry was uninhabited, it was considered a special location for residents of Santa Cruz County as it was a "pirate's cove" for supporters of [[Gu Sabah]] during the 2024 [[Gu Sabah Insurgency]].

The Bezuv of Xarslasja, Agamashuya I, vanished during the [[Hacking Plague]] of December 2025, though his death was kept secret until late February 2026. During this time of vague authority, compounded with the pressure to expand demographically caused by the [[Census Rush]], most counties in Xarslasja began new building projects that were not federally approved. In a Bezuvate governmental structure, all public building projects are to be approved and managed by the Bezuv directly. With no Bezuv in the first place, technically illegal construction projects were able to go on without federal approval or denial. By the time the Bezuv's death was revealed and House Speaker [[Jodai Wemmi]] came to power in the [[Xarslasja Legislature]], several counties had no intention of respecting her Transitional Government, seeing it as illegitimate.

Thus, in early March 2026, citizens of Santa Cruz County began building walls and fortifications in the disputed territory in and beyond Hayden's Ferry. This provoked the attention of [[Peaches]] of Pua.

Pua, especially since the [[Repunification]], has had not-so-subtle ambitions of realizing the "Greater Pua" movement to unite the [[Pua region]], which includes much of southern Xarslasja. The border dispute and encroachment of Puan territory by southern Xarslasjans provided a perfect justification to make a move.

Just before the [[List of Sessions of the Xarslasja Legislature|March 18th session of the Xarslasja Legislature]], Peaches sent an envoy to [[Yuɱa]], who declared that the Puan Navy was building up in the [[Djobom Sea]] to help its "friend and ally, Xarslasja" to quell "separatists" and clarify a definitive border at Hayden's Ferry. With [[Pua]] being a member of the [[Thasusan Union]] and the [[South Thasusan Common Market Agreement]], many in the Legislature accepted this reasoning. To be safe, the Legislature approved the sending of some of the [[Xarslasja Terrestrial Army]] to Hayden's Ferry to keep the peace. Speaker Jodai Wemmi's proposal to create a [[Xarslasja Ghast Corps]] was approved as well. The next morning, on March 19th, 2026, the Puan Navy occupied and built a fort on [[Florence Island]], Santa Cruz County, significantly west of Hayden's Ferry near the Nogales Channel.

Caught off guard, the XTA built makeshift fortifications protecting the [[Nogales-Arcosanti Line]] (which was already split in two due to unauthorized construction in Nogales). Akuv [[Ngu]] (slave to creativity) approved the use of [[Thou Hast Been Yeeten (Crossbow Version)]] on the fort. Two warning shots were fired with no counterstrikes and no casualties.
