This was the first election held after the [[Ender Revolution]], and the first free and fair election since [[April 1996 Vallis Draconum legislative election\|1996]]. The [[Social Progressive Party (Vallis Draconum)\|Social Progressive Party]] won a plurality of 19 seats, but fell short of the 23 required for a majority, while the opposition [[Rise (Vallis Draconum)\|Rise]] party won 13 seats. The Traditionalist Party, who ruled with an authoritarian government for decades, won just 1 seat and less than 2% of the vote. Voter turnout was estimated at 88.6%.
