== Background ==
British colonization of the island of Iamitat, then named Shitstone, started around the year 1359 of the Krista calendar. It was settled mainly by people from southern England that had a suspicion of being disloyal to the monarchy, and the soldiers with their famillies that were stationed in Fort Shitstone. It had minimal contact with the [[Sea States Period|Sea States]], only partaking in minor trade with southernmost states. British expansion did not occur, beacause of the mountainous terrain on the nearby mainland. After the [[Faxhylan of 1417]], the new unified state of [[Aprux Mexyrhat]] became a major threat to the colony.
