Pyuwa /ˈpju.(w)a/ (Pyuwan: وێلەک وۆيؤدەن فیوەي Wēlika Wōjodina Fīwija), formerly Kyawcenni Pua (Kyawcenni: Pyuwa Kyawcenne /pjy.wə tɕaw.tsɛn.nɛ/, Pyuwan: وزئمًليً کِيَفسِنتِ فیوِيً Ozēmelje Kijafsence Fīwije), is a former Murbetian territory in Pua Minor. It was annexed by the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen as a federal unorganized territory (what today is an associated state) following the dissolution and Scramble for Murbetia on 22 August 2024. It is located on the western shore of the Antsunmwasha River and borders Pòjaj to the south and Coldba (Cuba) to the west.
Pyuwa is often criticized for its abuses of universal rights, citing reports of government critics being imprisoned and tortured, families harassed by the state, and cases of forced disappearances. Individual rights such as the freedoms of movement and speech are severely repressed and discrimination based on species or fur color is not uncommon.
Name
The name Pua is the Toki Pua word for flower. Toki Pua is one of the languages that were historically spoken in what is today the country of Pua, alongside the Puan language in its western part and in Pua Minor.
Both Toki Pua and the Puan language called this region Pua. This name was then borrowed into Kyawcenni as Pyuwa. Then, the Puan language began to decline in the territory of modern Pua, until it was mostly spoken in Pua Minor. At this point in time, the Puan language had undergone a lot of sound shifts, so they now called Pua Fūwa.
When Kyaw Cen colonized a part of Pua Minor, they called it Pyuwa Kyawcenne, which can be translated as Kyawcenni Pua. The Puan language spoken in Kyawcenni Pua had then loaned the name Pyuwa into their language as Fīwija, which became a word exclusively used for that territory. (Yes, Fīwija is a close approximation to Pyuwa with the country ending -ija) Now the Puan language distinguished between Pua (Fūwa) and Kyawcenni Pua (Fīwija).
That distinction also began to emerge in Kyawcenni, which now uses the newly loaned word Pôwa for the country of Pua, while still using the word Pyuwa. This distinction was then adopted by the English language as well, which now distinguishes between the larger country of Pua and the smaller Kyawcenni associated state of Pyuwa.
The Territory of Kyawcenni Pua officially changed its name to the Grand Duchy of Pyuwa on 29 May 2025, when it gained more autonomy by becoming an associated state of the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen.
Nowadays, the Puan language is almost exclusively spoken in Pyuwa, and not in Pua anymore, so the name of the language began to change from Puan (*Fūca jēziq*) to the more fitting term Pyuwan (Fīca jēziq), which is less associated with the country of Pua.

History
The Grand Duchy of Pyuwa has been a sovereign entity ruled by the House of Fotōṡniq for a long time, but it is unclear when the monarchy was originally founded. From 10 March onwards, it has been claimed by Murbetia, but the monarchy has never been de facto dependent on the country. When Murbetia disbanded on 22 August 2024, the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen has gained interest in turning the grand duchy into a dependent unorganized territory. So it did.
On 22 August 2024, the Territory of Kyawcenni Pua has been founded. On 29 May 2025, grand duke Matjāż I has signed the Compact of Free Association with the Kingdom, which changed its status to a self-governing country in free association with the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen. It is mostly a change of terminology, but one change was that the territory could now choose its own official name. On the same day, Matjāż I chose to change the official name of the Territory of Kyawcenni Pua back to Grand Duchy of Pyuwa.
Pyuwa and the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen are close trading partners, with Pyuwa mostly exporting oil[1] to the kingdom. Since then, this revenue has been invested into rebuilding the grand duchy as an urban area using sandstone and other materials imported from Kyaw Cen.
Politics
Pyuwa is a federal semi-constitutional monarchy where the power is shared between the four cities and the government. Elections are considered neither free nor fair.
Cities

Kyawcenni Pua consists of four traditional cities. Every house in that city is numbered, usually by age.

Transport
Pyuwa is connected to the Cenrail network via the Scarecrow Harbour Station shared with Pòjaj. There is also a small national metro system operated by the state-owned railway company Fīce Żeleznise.
