Vietnamese++ (Việt Cộng Cộng / Việt Cộŋ Cộŋ) is the ŋational language of the Communist Empire of Adnar. It is the same as regular Vietnamese, except for these changes. For a refresher of regular Vietnamese, check out this video.

Phonology

Vietnamese++ takes sounds from the southern Vietnamese dialect as the standard.

Orthography

Vietnamese++ still uses Latin letters with diacritics, but several changes have been made and silent letters were introduced.

  • Diagraph [ng] replaced by [ŋ]. Similarly, [Ng] becomes [Ŋ].
  • Diagraph [nh] replaced by [ñ]. Similarly, [Nh] becomes [Ñ].
  • Diagraph [qu] replaced by [w]. Similarly, [Qu] becomes [W].
  • Diagraph [ph] replaced by [f]. Similarly, [Ph] becomes [F].
  • The hook tone (hỏi) no longer exists. All words spelled with the hook accent now uses the tilde tone (ngã) instead.
  • [ỏ] spelled as [oir]
  • coda [n] becomes [ŋ] or [ñ] (depends on word)
  • [u] (as nucleus of a vowel with no coda) becomes [oo] (tones carry onto 2nd [o])
