Bookshelf chests were a block found in Season 1. They functioned similarly to a chest, but looked identical to a regular bookshelf.

These were used in the Citadel and Capitol. They were able to be locked by a server admin. This locking feature is why the Capitol enchanting room is laid out the way it is, as Fin was unable to remove some bookshelves and elected to just keep them all.

When copied over to Season 2, at some point, they lost their ability to hold items as well as their locked status. It is unknown whether any items were in any when copied, and therefore unknown what would have happened to any contained items. All instances were converted into regular bookshelves.

These have since been succeeded by chiseled bookshelves for use in the Citadel.
