The name "Saharia" comes from the Hebrew word סהר ''sahar'', meaning crescent, which is the shape of the Saharian Peninsula.

Saharia was founded on 2025-05-28 on a peninsula located beneath the rails of the [[Cenrail#Crystal Line|Crystal]] and Klakkenbuutsh Lines of the Cenrail network. Its de-facto Prime Minister [[Lux Moniridia]] founded the ŋation after experiencing a vision in which she saw a shape that she later described as the "[[Amuj]]an Cycle" with the various [[Amujology|Amujological]] iterations of Amuj morphing from one to the next, until the shape became that of Saharia and stayed as such. Soon after experiencing the vision, Lux discussed it with her friend [[StemonWasHere|Stemon Worshere]], who told her that "I feel like any Amujan state have a lot of potentials.", which assured Lux to find the envisioned territory and settle it. This discussion is the source of the Saharian motto "Amuj forever".
