The Preservation Party is a political party in Rauratoshan. They platform themselves on agrarian support, and have a traditional Rauratoshanian view on the role of the government.
History
The roots of the Preservation Party go back to before the establishment of Parliament, and even before the Rauratoshanian incursion. The Preservation Party began as a cabinet of advisors to Queen Setlan, the last regent from House Randa. After her death, the cabinet was sent away by King Azbin IV. However, the group stayed together, forming the Preservation Press, a propaganda mill for Randan ideals and against House Mohito. Soon afterward, members of House Randa themselves started supporting the project.
Around the time of the Rauratoshanian incursion, the Preservation Press turned outright into the Preservation Party, initially hoping to sway the new quing regent, Nozomi I, to not annex the Elemental Republic. However, their cries fell on deaf ears. Ironically, the royalist propaganda mill ended up calling against the rulings Queen Nozomi I was making. After the parliament was established, the Preservation Party quickly made a bid for seats, and although many of their elections failed to produce any results, the most critical election, that of Preservation Press editor Kokoya Randa, succeeded.
