Xì dách

Xì dách (Xì dách) is a type of Chinese Blackjack played in Adnar. Xì dách is easy to play, easily scalable for multiple players, and is highly chance-based. Xì dách is played using a standard deck of playing cards. If there are more than 10 players, two decks of cards with identical backs are used.

Objectives

One player assumes the role of the dealer (ñà cái). The role of dealer may rotate after each round or be fixed. The objective of all other players (ñà coŋ) is to have a higher total than the dealer without busting (wắt). The objective of the dealer is to win against as many players as possible.

Rules

The dealer deals for each player two cards face down. The player may only look at their own cards. The player immediately after the dealer goes first, continuing around the table until the dealer, who goes last. The total of a player’s hand is the sum of the face value of all cards on their hand. J, Q, K counts as 10. A may count as 1, 10, 11 depending on whatever number gives the player the most advantage.

Certain hands cause the player to immediately win. A blackjack (xì dách) is when the initial two cards already add up to 21. A super-blackjack (xì bàŋ) is when the initial two cards are two As. A magic-five (ngũ liñ) is when the player has five cards that does not exceed 21. Players with these win conditions must reveal their hand.
