The Dark Island Anomaly is a temporal anomaly being investigated by the Time Party of Madness, where the Realm of Madness' northern island, known as the Dark Island, changed shape after it was reset in Nguhcraft Winter.
The northern Land of Chaos, and especially the Dark Island, were known to be inhabited before the Fog of Madness took over. However, it is incredibly unlikely that the island's previous shape was player-built, as the island was twice as large before the reset, had a different terrain surrounding the pillager outpost in it, and was supported by the under-ocean ground just as a naturally generated island is. If players did expand it, it would have taken a monumental effort and impressive precision in removing any indication that the island was much smaller in the past, and it would have been for no reason since the area was never claimed and never stated to be in development.
Consequences
Having evidence of the Dark Island's previous and current appearances, the Time Party has concrete evidence that time travel is real and possible.
Reality
This article is primarily roleplay, but the change in shape of the island was actually unexpected. Suqi had requested Ætérnal reset it for the update so that its pillager outpost would no longer be burned down. However, it dramatically changed shape and, although disappointed, Suqi used this opportunity to advance the Realm of Madness' studies in time travel.
