Timatyab (/timatjab/), officially the Island Fortress of Timatyab, is a Ward of Cataw located in the Sea of Thevs, directly north of Paz Kiiam and south of the coast of Eastern Tardigradia. It is directly connected to mainland Cataw via portal magic, allowing it to be governed as if it was a continuous territory. As of 2026, Timatyab has 19,764 inhabitants.

Prior to Catawan colonisation, Timatyab was inhabited by a small population of Zigisians related to the Faeries of Cataw. They spoke a highly divergent Guazan language, which only has around 10 speakers in the modern day. At some point, the City of Cataw colonised the island and built a resource extraction outpost, which also served some military purposes. This outpost later expanded into a small trading port, which was then further extended to house the people living and working on the island.

Economy

Timatyab is the home of Cataw's medical industry. It is also Cataw's only open-sea port, and due to its position outside of the Cataw Valley the Faerie gods have less jurisdiction over it, allowing for slightly less strict border control.
