The war began following a surprise Kiiamic invasion, which the Kiiamic government justified by a representative being attacked and shot by local pillagers. Paz Kiiam then demanded compensation from Aswnga for the harm caused in the form of the entirety of Xallia, which Aswnga refused to cede.
