Name
The name Krīpetēpla comes from Krīpoti Krīpet, meaning "people", and pla, which today means refuge but in the past used to mean "land", (ē is an epenthetic vowel), and so the name can be translated as "the land of the people".
In English, the name can be written as Krīpetēpla, Kriipeteepla or Kripetepla, though its government always uses the first.
Flag and banner
The flag of Krīpetēpla is made of three equal horizontal bands (light blue, yellow and red) and a green circle in the middle. The Constitution of Krīpetēpla specifies the colors as:
- Maya blue (RGB: #73C2FB)
- Gold (RGB: #FFD700)
- Crimson red (RGB: #DC143C)
- Kelly green (RGB: #4CBB17).
Additionally, the Constitution also specifies the size of the circle, which must have the diameter equal to ¼ of the height, and the ratio of the flag, which is the golden ratio (φ ≈ 1.618).
The banner follows an analogous pattern, with the colors being replaced with light blue, yellow, red and lime.
