Farmer's Delight
Farmer's Delight is a mod that extends the foods available to the player compared to normal vanilla Minecraft. It adds 4 new crops and includes over 30 more foods to make, rope, and knives for extra violence. It also includes extra cosmetic things like cabinets, canvas and tatami mats.
Crops
There are four new crops implemented into the game, rice, tomatoes, cabbages, and onions.
Rice
Rice is commonly found in swamps and sometimes jungle biomes, it is usually found two metres tall with the top above water and one below. Harvesting by hand will drop a rice panicle, which have to be chopped in a cutting board to make rice and straw. Alternatively, rice can be harvested by knife and drop the straw and rice normally. Rice can be cooked in a pot to make cooked rice to make cooked rice, which can be consumed or made into more complex dishes
Tomatoes
Tomatoes can be found in the savannah and desert, where they drop seeds and the tomato fruit. Tomato plants can be grown by itself or a maximum of 3 blocks tall via attaching rope onto it. Once tomatoes are grown they can be right clicked to obtain the fruit, just like sweet berries. Tomatoes have a small chance of being rotten after harvested, and can be thrown as a projectile.
Cabbages
Cabbages are found commonly on beaches and can be planted and harvested by using the seeds of the plant. Cabbages can be cut into leaves by slicing it with a knife. Why the recipe only produces two you have to consult the developers.
Onions
Onions are found around mountainous or hilly areas, of which they spawn with an allium. They are harvested and planted just like potatoes and carrots.
If you're lazy and don't want to find the trouble to find all the crops you can source them for yourselves in the public access Kozdenen farms
Cooking
There are now more complex ways to cook your food than a stinky ass furnace, (or your dusty old smoker)
Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot is the new mechanic introduced in Farmer's Delight. It requires a heat source in order to cook the food, which you can place on a stove or campfire. In order to cook foods, you need to supply ingredients in the 6 slots in the pot. Then, food still has to be served, either put a bowl (for most recipes), a glass bottle (for hot cocoa, cider, or glow berry custard), or a pumpkin (for a stuffed pumpkin)
Skillet
The skillet can be used in the offhand with any cookable meat on the other hand, or you can put it on a stove like a normal person and cook the meat on top of it.
Placed food
Pies, or any meal that has to be plated, can be placed, and right clicked with bowls to give the Nourishing effect.
Fertilizer
There is also another mechanic to how you can grow your food at least 2 times faster, it's called Rich Soil. In order to make rich soil, you need organic compost. By combining random kitchen scraps and also apparently a shit ton of calcium you can make your own organic compost. Then, roast them in the sun for at least 20 minutes and while you're at it add some mushrooms or water to boost the speed of transformation if you're just that impatient. Once you have this rich soil abundant in nutrients, unlike the beta weak ass piss normal dirt, you can till it and plant crops. Or get some shrooms on some rich soil to make it grow into colonies. (this will be important for a special quest)
