2026 Minaro-Cohasian First Governatorial Election
The 2026 Minaro-Cohasian First Governatorial Election took place between January 3-6 2026. It was intended to elect the members of the Culfuna (Minaro-Cohasian District Assembly) and the Governor of Minaro-Cohasia Autonomous District. As per clause IV.4 of the Treaty of Plaza, A district-wide Governatorial election is to be held within one week of this treaty going into effect. But the government waited until the weekend to hold the elections to give breathing room to candidates campaigning. This election marked the end of 150 year dictatorship regime, for the president is now appointed by the people and not the previous president.
