Ukonian (Species)
Ukonians ([uˈkoʊniɪnz]) are a bipedal sapient species native to the planet Piudoa. They are theorized to have evolved from a species akin to monitor lizards.
Appearance
One of their defining characteristics is the presence of several spikey black keratin plates armoring their body, similar in texture to animal horns. These, along with their own horns, evolved as a defensive mechanism against predators.
Ukonians also possess softer yellow scales, and gray skin with patches that appear green in moistened areas.
Their eyes have relatively thin pupils compared to human eyes, and the most common color for their iris is orange, but they may also be shades of yellow, brown, beige or peach. They can see all light visible to humans, as well as ultraviolet light between the frequencies of 315 and 400 nanometers.
Their height and other proportions are largely similar to humans, as well as their oral anatomy.
