Alternate Slumia is a Ŋation in Slabland. It exists on land previously under the rule of Nošaterçe, before the Ŋation dissapeared due to mysterious circumstances (?)[2]. Alternate Slumian borders are defined by rivers and biome boundaries, such that it is contained entirely within an Old Growth Spruce Taiga and such that it doesn't intersect its neighboring Ŋations.
Name
Alternate Slumia is named after the country that its inhabitants originate from. Slumia was populated by Slumians and Lanetians, who were transported to the Ŋorld during the Teleportation Event. The word "alternate" is used in part to indicate the Slumians and Lanetians newly shared identity and to distinguish them from the "real" Slumians who remain back in their home world. Omitting the word "alternate" is usually considered fine, although inaccurate (because then it excludes those with Lanetian heritage), when used in casual speech. In more formal settings, omission of the word is considered disrespectful.
Teleportation Event
The Teleportation Event is an anomalous event that resulted in about 100,000 people being suddenly transported from Slumia to the Ŋorld. It took place sometime in the 1860s, the exact date is unknown. Exact reason or mechanism at play is, likewise, unknown. Eventually the people who took part in the Event formed the Alternate Slumian Ŋation.
