Kimare is a city-state on the southwest border of Amoria founded and currently run by Hiryn Ki. It was formed after Ki was exiled from Queen Layaw's Amoria for disobeying royal orders to retreat in the Murpet War. Kimare has a population of approximately 800 people.
Government
Kimare is ruled by Hiryn Ki, alongside 3 appointed advisors. Most, if not all government power, both legislative and executive, are allocated to Hiryn Ki. Kimare lacks the Royal Court present in Amoria's government.
Departments
Similar to Amoria, Kimare's government creates Departments to specialize and act in certain fields. Currently, Kimare has 3 departments: the Departments of International Relations, Soldiers & War, and Arcanics & Arcanology. Both the Departments of International Relations and War are led by Ki while the Department of Arcanics is led by Mara Enye. Most activity undertaken by the Department of International Relations is the creation and publication of pro-Kimare and anti-Layaw propaganda.
Title
Hiryn Ki's unofficial title is Sanirri of Kimare. "Sanirri" is a Common Amorian word derived from the name Sane Moja, the founder and first Lord of homeworld Amoria in myth. "Sanirri" means "self-proclaimed leader", and can have either negative or positive connotations depending on context.
Etymology
The name "Kimare" is derived from Hiryn Ki's surname and from the Amorian suffix "-mare", which is akin to the English suffix "-land".
History
Kimare's history is brief; it was founded on July 9, 2026 UTC by Hiryn Ki following their exile from Layaw's Amoria. For around a day, it had a population of around 20 until the Second Ship emerged in the Amorian Sea[1], at which point Kimare's population rose to around 800. Ki convinced people on the Second Ship not to go to Layaw's Amoria by convincing them that she was too young to lead a nation properly, as opposed to Ki, who has had a long leadership career in the military.
Languages
Kimare's official languages were initially Common Amorian and Aristoamorian, but most of the population speaks Shtavvi as their native language. This is because most of the population came off an immigrant ship from Kaldemare heading to Amoria. Because Shtavvi is the mother tongue of the majority of the population, it has become an official language of Kimare as well. Shtavvi is related to Amorian, as both are part of the Manoryn language family.
