Parkow
Parkow /ˈpɑɻ.koʊ̯/ (Kyawcenni: Parkow /ˈpaɻ.kɔʊ̯/, German: Parkau /ˈpaː.kaʊ/, formerly Kyaw Cen and Kyaw Cen City, is a city in the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen located on the Isles of Silly inbetween Shingtsun and Marcyland. Before its establishment as a part of the Greenification process, on 27 April 2024, the territory of the municipality of Kyaw Cen City had existed in its place, alongside North Island and the Pierced Islands.
Etymology
Kyaw Cen comes from Kyawcenni Kyawcen meaning "sand island". This is because the island the city was built on was largely made of sand before it was covered by Kyaw Cen's stone brick foundation. Though it can still be seen in the Kyawcenni underground. On 27 April 2024, Kyaw Cen City has been renamed to Parkow, which comes from Kyawcenni parkow meaning vacation and leisure. The name was chosen in April 2024, when the Quing has been searching for a new name for the city. Another competitor was Lezonna or Lizonna from Kyawcenni lêzaunne meaning jungle.
History
Construction
Parkow, at that time just called Kyaw Cen, has started construction in November 2023 and has been consistently growing until late January 2024.
Kyaw Cen City as the capital of the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen
On 02 January 2024, the first borders of a Kyawcenni realm have been drawn, marking the establishment of the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen, named after its capital Kyaw Cen City. Though, due to poor urban planning, the government, including the Quing, has moved to Yija in February 2024, making Kyaw Cen City an unfinished ghost town until the greenification in April, while still having been the de jure capital city.
Greenification
Following the founding of Yija in February, Kyaw Cen City has been largely abandoned until a revival was proposed by the Quing to rebuild the city a few months later. On 19 April 2024, the Greenification of the city began. The eastern half of Kyaw Cen Island has been flattened and greenified and on 21 April, the first new house has been built in the city since January. On 22 May 2024, the Birchwood Mall was torn down in favor of the Parkow Town Hall & State Assembly Building.
Renaming
Ever since the abandonment of Kyaw Cen City, a dissolution, replacement or renaming of the city have been considered. But a new name hasn't been proposed until its revival and greenification in April 2024. The contestants have been Lezonna/Lizonna (from Kyawcenni lêzaunne meaning jungle) and Parkow (from Kyawcenni parkow meaning vacation and leisure). On 27 April 2024, Kyaw Cen City and the West Sheep Island and Sandcastle Island Protectorate have been officially dissolved by the Quing and replaced by the city of Parkow.
Underground
The Underground of Parkow or Kyawcenni Underground is the natural sand foundation under the city that is hidden underneath the thick layer of Stone Bricks. The underground can be entered through the Pokenxi mine, the backside of the Birchwood mall or the unwalled part at the Northeastern end of the city.
