Elections in Krīpetēpla

Being a democratic ŋation, Krīpetēpla regularly holds elections for the citizens to vote for a new parliament and a new executive. Additionally, following the death or abdication of the monarch, royal elections are held to find a new one.

The Krīpetēplan constitution states that general elections must be held once every four months, except for snap elections.

General elections

July 2025 general elections

Background

On 1 July 2025, the government of Krīpetēpla announced the first general elections to be held soon, and the following day the date was announced as 7 July. Due to these elections being held so soon after the constitution was approved, both houses of the parliament were elected using the federal electoral law.

The election was held using the score voting system, in which each voter had to assign a score 0-10 to each candidate.

Due to the electoral system used, the two houses of the parliament have drastically different compositions. This is because the Socialist Party performed better than the Freedom Party in the constituencies won, but the Freedom Party performed better overall.

November 2025 general elections

Background

The November 2025 general elections were held on 3 November 2025. Following the July 2025 elections, score voting had been replaced with approval voting for parliament seats.

Aftermath

Following the announcement of the results, Military Front leader Gah Etł Wātet claimed that the result had been manipulated. On 10 November, a group of MF supporters stormed the Leaf Palace and attempted to kill Prime Minister O'īt, while another person attempted to sabotate the ghastport of Nēhqsosa. Two days later, following further statements by Wātet defining the perpetrators "heroes", and some evidence linking him to the terrorists, an arrest warrant was issued against him, and the Military Front was declared unconstitutional.

March 2026 general elections

Background

The March 2026 general elections were held on 2 March 2026. Following the annexation of Xerucada, the parliament voted unanimously an amendment to the constitution doubling the amount of seats, to allow the now larger population to be better represented.

Royal elections

2025 royal elections

Background

On 1 July 2025, High King Sehrti'sa announced he would abdicate to allow for a new king to be democratically elected, as he was put in place as a temporary head of State after the revolution. As such, royal elections were called for, to be held together with the general elections (later confirmed to be on 7 July). Despite not having the intention to candidate himself for the role, following pressures from various citizens and left-wing politicians on 2 July he announced his candidature.

The election was held using the score voting system, in which each voter had to assign a score 0-10 to each candidate.
