Tögrögmitosis
The Tögrögmitosis is a current financial crisis in Sofao Tâsi, in which the value of the Sofaoan tögrög has as of 12/31/25 reached 20 times the target value set by the Sofao Tâsi Mint, making the most common Ŧ25 bill being worth about 1 slablet. The Sofao Tâsi Mint has declared a deflationary crisis, with a deflationary spiral feared to be occurring.
Background
Historically, the Sofaoan tögrög has been pegged to about 10 tögrögs per shaving, or about 640 tögrögs per slablet. As few goods can be bought for a tenth of a shaving, the vast majority of printed bills were worth Ŧ25, with the expectation that these would be worth around 2.5 shavings. As these are the most common denomination of currency, the effects of value changes are essentially felt 25 times more than they would be if lower denomination currency was more common.
On 11/27/25, the Sofao Tâsi Mint ran out of printing materials. Already experiencing deflation, the tögrög was reported to be worth double the target value, with plans to print more tögrögs when more printing materials were available. This was promptly forgotten about by N3, who proceeded to not gather any more printing materials.
Mass value growth
There are three main, independent factors that are the primary causes of this financial crisis.
Mine Resource Reällocation
On 12/30/25, the Sofao Tâsi Mint decided to centralize all government-owned valuable materials into their vault. This was done to prevent theft and to prevent misplacement of highly valuable items. This included the smelted minerals in mine warehouses. After this process was completed, the value of the tögrög went up significantly, though it was believed at the time that this could be offset by the usual amount of printing.
Overlooked valuables
On 12/30/25, it was also discovered that certain materials (most notably, diamonds) were not being properly accounted for when calculating the worth of the tögrög. When factoring these in, this made the worth of the tögrög jump significantly.
Sajlo Nagăv Productivity Incident
On 12/31/25, several large veins of standard materials were found on the surface and promptly mined. These materials were, in conjunction with mine resource reällocation, immediately smelted and brought to the Sofao Tâsi Mint. This brought the tögrög's value far higher than what was previously thought to be possible.
