Esasne or Xhesasne /ˈ(ǃ)ɛ.səs.nə/ (Kyawcenni: (Yolyu) Esasne[1] /(ˌjɔl.jy) ˈɛ.sas.nɛ/), formerly Mawjyaw (Kyawcenni: Mawjyaw /ˈmaʊ̯.dʒjaʊ̯/), officially Yolyu Esasne, is a village in Shingtsun which has been inhabited by villagers before the Kyawcenni colonization of the territory in February 2024. After the Mawjyaw Massacre, it was renamed to Esasne in honor of Namnak Xhesas, who has saved the remaining three villagers from being murdered by the attacking pillager army. After that, Namnak has repopulated the village using a villager breeder.

Name

The Kyawcenni name Yolyu Esasne derives from Yolyu meaning city or town and Esasne, which is the Kyawcenni transcription of the name Xhesas (see Massacre) in Genitive case. The former name, Mawjyaw, meaning well or fountain, came from the well in the center of the village.

Name in other languages:
  • German: (Joliu) Esasne[2] /(ˈjɔljyː) ˈʔeːsasnə/

Massacre

The Mawjyaw Massacre was a pillager raid on 15 February 2024 that was accidentally triggered by Marcy I. After over 80% of Mawjyaw's population had been killed, the raiders have been defeated with the help of Xhesas, the Co-Magistrate of Enkavak. In his honor, the village was renamed to Yolyu Tesasne, later changed to Yolyu Esasne, on the same day.
