The emblem of the nation is centered on the flyward border of the pale. The emblem consists of a white sun with a golden crown, the Lotus Crown, above. The disk of the sun is one-third the height of the flag, and is surrounded by 7 large rays and 8 small rays alternating around the lower portion of the disk. The rays are spaced as if there were 20 rays (10 large and 10 small), with the upper five rays replaced by the crown.
