History
The first known instance of the word gaming being used as a greeting was on 18 July 2023, when Discord user ChatGPT sent the message SPANSOS GAMING after spansos had joined the game.[1] This was during a time when Nguhcraft was at an all-time low and only very few players, such as spansos, had been active. This had then started to develop into a meme that was repeated almost every time spansos joined the game.
Not long after, this meme was also applied to other players, such as Entropy gaming and post-raid, when a lot more people started playing on Nguhcraft, the greeting just became gaming and later the antonym ungaming has developed, which is used when someone leaves the game. Even more variations of that word, like regaming, agming or unregaming are also in use. For certain players, adaptations of gaming have been created, such as agming for Agma Schwa, λaming for Lambda, sqaming for Sq, CMCing for CMC etc.
Legacy
On 09 April 2024, when spansos has founded their country, they chose the name Spansos Gaming, naming it after the meme. Originally, they wanted to wait until they had made an original conlang and choose a name in that language. But this hasn't happened yet and even today, the country is still called Spansos Gaming.
To this day, the greetings gaming and ungaming remain a custom embraced by all active gamers.
