Imerchal, officially the City of Yetch Bay (Mosici:  an·caípehiímersialtore [ãkepjiːmɛɐ̯ɕawdoʀe], Occitan: Ciutat de la Baia d’Òjo /siwta de la bajɔ dɔju/), sometimes spelled Ímersial or Imershal, is a city-state to the northwest of the Central Sea, east of Kyaw Cen and north of Myžariky.

Etymology

The City is named after the eponymous Yetch Bay which seats in between the 3 “mainland” prefectures of the city. The short name of the City comes from the Mosici  ([imɛɐ̯]), meaning bay or estuary, and  ([ɕaẅ]), meaning city.

Language

The official languages of Imerchal are Mosici and Occitan. In the territories, Kyawcenni is also recognized as official in Vansterèl and Guazas is also recognised as official in Chalmosique.

Politics

Imerchal is a representative democratic guild government organised as a unitary parliamentary directorate. The current constitution of Imerchal was approved by referendum on the 2nd Sixtine of Seunem, Crossing 200 (Wed 29 Aug 1906).

Government

The constitution divides the government in 3 branches: Legislative, Executive and Judiciary.

Legislature

The legislature is constituted as a bicameral system composed of a lower chamber, the Grand Council () and an upper chamber, the College of Guilds ().

The Great Council has 108 delegates elected by direct universal suffrage. The seats are divided according to population among the prefectures and districts, Vansterèl and Pojaj, the seats are then further divided within each into electoral boroughs (for prefectures) or cantons (for districts) of similar population. They serve a 4-month term. Also elected for a 4-month term is the Representative of Citizens abroad, who, while unable to vote, can still participate in debates.

The College has 108 delegates elected by the 36 guilds They serve a 3 year term, and a third of the College is replaced every year, one seat per guild

Executive

The executive is composed of numerous offices headed by the directorate, which is nominated by the Collegiate every year. The Director of the Office of State is the unofficial leader of the directorate – colloquially known as the First Director by analogy with the office of Prime Minister in many other countries – and traditionally serves as the head of state in situations when a single individual is needed.

Judiciary

The judiciary branch is divided in two groups, ordinary courts (which handle issues of civil and criminal litigation) and administrative courts (which handle administrative litigation).
