The Rauratoshan Vulgar Authority (Rokadong:    Rokemya Harumfi Rauratoshan) is an """"academic organization""""[disputed] in Rauratoshan. Their office is on the Island of :worst_anguish:.

Heavily based on George Orwell's book 1984, the RVA is the furthest-right party in Rauratoshan.

History

The RVA was formed as a non-crown authority for the Rokadong language. This quickly became vitriol for anything deemed non-standard, of course.

As the Constitution of Rauratoshan was being drafted, the RVA became interested in politics. Rather than be content with lobbying, they hoped to plant actual RVA members in Parliament.

The RVA attempted to run one candidate in both the 2025 and 2026 elections. However, in the first case, the candidate, Hipapotamansoqa Faba, broke from the party in the middle of the campaign, and registered as an independent. The second case, Marananun, did get elected as an RVA member, though.

Beliefs

The RVA believes that all language is prone to errors, and that it is the duty of institutions to correct them, forcibly if so. Such errors that the RVA has spoken out against include, but are not limited to:

  • English phonology: lack of rhotacization, spontaneous rhotacization of final schwa
  • English lexicon: use of "literally" figuratively, the adjective "skibidi"
  • English grammar: use of singular they, amplificatory double negation
  • Spanish phonology: seseo, ceceo
  • Spanish lexicon: "el crismes" and other such English loans
  • Spanish grammar: leísmo, (de)queísmo, use of "-ísimo" and "muy" at the same time
  • Rokadong phonology: tékuhasá
  • Rokadong lexicon: use of Debazi loanwords instead of calques
  • Rokadong grammar: helping minar

Activities

  • The RVA's resident Spanish expert Mahima Azahar wrote a lengthy diatribe about various "errors" in the Spanish language.[citation needed][1]
  • A user on Ŋitter made fun of president of RVA Shermi Cinmon, saying that Shermi should run for office with his attitude toward language use. He quote-retweeted with a thinking emoji. However, the RVA did not actually run for office until 2026.
    • Specifically, the RVA did sponsor a candidate, Hipapotamansoqa Faba of Rafi Island, but he campaigned as an independent, and the RVA's registration as a party was therefore denied.
    • Marananun, the eventual RVA candidate, was the one who came to RVA President Cinmon, not the other way around.
