Orthography changes
The orthography of Vietnamese++ suffers from these changes:
- ⟨ng⟩ and ⟨Ng⟩ becomes ⟨ŋ⟩ and ⟨Ŋ⟩.
- ⟨nh⟩ and ⟨Nh⟩ becomes ⟨ñ⟩ and ⟨Ñ⟩.
- ⟨ph⟩ and ⟨Ph⟩ becomes ⟨f⟩ and ⟨F⟩.
- ⟨qu⟩ and ⟨Qu⟩ becomes ⟨w⟩ and ⟨W⟩.
- [d] and [k] are now allowed to participate in diphthongs with [a], [ă], [â].
- Coda [n] now becomes either ⟨ŋ⟩ or ⟨ñ⟩ (depends on the word).
- The hook tone (hỏi) no longer exists. Words formerly spelled with the hook tone are now spelled using the tilde tone (ngã) instead.
