Tyuvya Tôšma

Tyuvya Tôšma [ˈtjuvja ˈtʌʃɱa], also known as Nightground and ǂKx’ûm kâ ǀNṵ́e [ǂ͡k͜x’um˧˩ ka˧˩ ŋ͡ǀṵˀᵘe˥], is a territory containing a cleared ancient city in Slabland, northwest of the Old Kingdom. It is a subterritory of Juya Gwaña, which is the base of the player Suqi. It is currently claimed to ensure access to the not-yet-added Sift dimension in a place closest to Juya Gwaña.
Etymology
- Tyuvya Tôšma means "The City and the Dark" in Iskel, with tyuvy meaning "dense settlement" and tôšm meaning "darkness" (-a is a noun marker).
- ǂKx’ûm kâ ǀNṵ́e is a !Xóõ phrase approximating the English phrase "Nightground". It translates to "Earth of Night", with ǂkx’ûm meaning "earth", kâ meaning "of", and ǀnṵ́e meaning "night".[1]
Other Names
Tyuvya Tôšma has been known by other names in the past:
- Its first name was ɢquhũɴǃqʼħə́χ, anglicized as Gohonqakh or Cohoncac. This was from a conlang, possibly Zaekuu, that was originally planned to be spoken in the territory.
- Its second name was Šą'êsiþko [ʃɑʔésiθko], an Iskel name from a period where it had much different grammar. This name is still written on the nether portal.
Connection to Juya Gwaña
Tyuvya Tôšma is only connected to Juya Gwaña as a proxy. It is not planned to act as an extension of Suqi's base itself, and does permit interŋational infrastructure through its borders.
There already exists a portal to Tyuvya Tôšma northwest of the Leshrail Roof station of the Slab Exchange, but for now it is only accessible by walking.
Geography
Tyuvya Tôšma is entirely barren of structures on the surface. The ancient city is accessible by a 1x1 hole at the precise coordinates given of it in Chunkbase. The land is mostly plains with some forest, and a snowy mountain biome in its center. A deep dark biome extends throughout almost its entire underground. A sliver of cherry grove exists at its border with the Old Kingdom.
History

Originally Tyuvya Tôšma, under the name Nightground, was planned to become a worldbuilding site made out of an ancient city. The ancient city was made habitable by removing almost all the naturally-spawned shriekers and placing torches across the city. This process was long and arduous, involving innumerable deaths to the warden on Suqi's part.
Symbolically, the warden was imprisoned in a jail built for it on the outskirts of the city. One naturally-spawned shrieker remains inside the city's laboratory for controlled respawning of another warden.
Nightground would eventually be abandoned due to lack of motivation and pressure to avoid owning so many territories. It had been released to the wilderness, open for others to claim for a few months.
Eventually, it was announced that the Sift would be added as a new dimension to Minecraft. Speculation quickly arose within the Minecraft community that the Sift would only be accessible through the presently-unused portals found in ancient cities. Suqi wanted to expand Juya Gwaña's territory into the Sift however possible due to its similar conceptual aesthetic to Juya Gwaña. Luckily[was it really a coincidence?], the closest ancient city to Juya Gwaña was Nightground. It was then reclaimed and given the name Tyuvya Tôšma, becoming part of Juya Gwaña in case the Sift portals truly end up only accessible from ancient cities.
