Malagasy (natively: [malagaʃ]) is a Paleo-Oberian B language spoken in the Duchy of Bootland as a co-official language.

Phonology

Vowels

Bootlandic Malagasy, unlike the standard variety, has a phonemic schwa, spelled <â>. It also has the vowel /ɨ/, spelled <u>.

Consonants

Bootlandic Malagasy merges the retroflex plosives with their alveolar counterparts both in writing and in speech, so a word such as Standard Malagasy "adiditra" [adidiʈə] is instead "adidita" [adiditə] in Bootlandic Malagasy. It also fortifies /h/ to /x/, adds the phonemes /ɣ ʃ/ <gh ś>, and respells /ŋ (ⁿ)t͡s/ as <ñ (n)c>.
