Rhetaleta Shrine (English: [ɹejtəlejtə ʃɹajn], Rokadong: Rhetaleta Fenyukan [ˌʁetəˈletə fɛˈɲukan]) is the largest religious structure in the Rauratoshan Kingdom. A temple to the Yukacan moon goddess Létakkíla, the shrine consists of a large atrium with a jungle tree embedded in "moon rocks", and two side chambers.
Rhetaleta Shrine has a counterpart, Grazenyas Shrine, planned for Yunrai. However, Grazenyas Shrine is planned not to include other wings, so Rhetaleta Shrine is expected to remain the largest religious building in Rauratoshan.
Timeline
- December 2024: The basic frame for the building began.
- February 2025: The main exterior and a sizable chunk of the interior of the building was completed.
- June 2025: The interior of the shrine undergoes renovations, replacing the froglights with pearlescent lanterns and placing flowers in the shrine.
- August 2025: The Star Fountain and seating area, which sits atop Galaxy Heights, is built.
- September 2025: The shrine begins to grow rice in small beds in front of the shrine.
Purpose
Rhetaleta Shrine is primarily dedicated to Létakkíla, the goddess of the moon. However, related deities, such as Kuvilayu, are also worshipped here.
Rhetaleta Shrine is explicitly open to anyone who wishes to reach the gods, no matter whom - even if the shrine is primarily dedicated to the moon. This makes the shrine effectively pantheistic.
