Currency is illegal

"Currency non havus" is the official English term for the legal currency system of the government of Wänade. The term refers to the system's lack of a central unitary currency, which is instead replaced with a trading and bartering system. Further elaboration is punishable by trial by sea.

Note that in later years the XSM has been adopted as a formal currency, though regulation of the value of 1XSM remains to be notoriously non-existent.
