The Key is a modded item that is craftable on Nguhcraft and can be used to open locked containers and doors and remove locks from them.
Crafting Recipe
A key can be crafted using gold ingots and redstone.
Pairing

Like locks, keys start out as unpaired. An unpaired key becomes paired when it is paired with a lock for the first time, at which point a random, unique id is generated for it. A key can be paired with any number of locks.
Duplication
A paired key can be duplicated by placing it together with an unpaired key in a crafting grid. This will create a copy of the key with the same id.
Usage
After a container has been locked, it can only be opened if you have a key with the same id in hand. Furthermore, a key can be used to remove a lock with the same id from a container by using it on the container while sneaking.[1] This will drop the paired lock.
Note that anyone with the right key can do this all of this, irrespective of who crafted the key or the lock, who paired them, or who applied the lock to the container.
