Māori (Sometimes spelled Maori or Maaori, known to its speakers as te reo Māori [tɛ ɾɛɔ ˈmaːɔɾi], also with alternate spellings, can be shortened to te reo) is a Paleo-Agmatic (Ŋarchepelagic) language. It is spoken by minority communities accross the Pua region and was the source of the lexicon of Toki Pua. Many place names in Pua are derived from Māori words, through Toki Pua.
