The Tradition and Democracy Party (Jutish: Traditjon-end-Demokratie Partí [tʰʀɑ̈diˈts̠jɔn ən ˌdeːmɔkʰʀɑ̈ˈtʰeə̯ pʰɑ̈ˈtʰɛ̞j]) is a conservative and monarchist political party in Jotlond. The party was founded by the more ardent supporters of the ascension of Queen Seo to the throne of Jotlond and the establishment of the monarchy.
Official Positions
First and foremost, the TDP is united in supporting the expansion of the powers of the monarchy at the expense of parliament. The position of ultimately wanting their jobs to not exist may be perplexing to some, but when questioned on it by the press after the Second Congress (covered in the history section), party head and Opposition Leader Astrid was quoted as saying "What no, it's only the Ultra loonies who want that!"
Aside from monarchism, the TDP also wants the country to adhere to the social and cultural institutions of its past; consequently it staunchly opposes attempts by the RP to introduce capitalism to Jotlond (dubbing it "the Merchant Menace"), and prefers that the country maintain a mostly agrarian economy. Additionally, they are in favor of trade protectionism against foreign merchants, the institution of Charlottism as the state religion, the protection of minority rights (in opposition to the unitary nationalism of RP)[2], smaller government expenditures, and the recognition of the legacy of Þunan Qumreá in Jotlond.
History
Foundation and First Election
The TPD draws its descent from the faction in the original Jutish Ríksdach that supported the rise of Seo as she gained power within the country following her return. They ran their first election campaign on a platform based on the Queen's personal popularity among the Jutish people.

Following a relatively poor showing at the 2025 Jutish General Election, a Second Party Congress was called to define their platform going forward. In this congress, two factions emerged: the Moderates (the largest group within the party which also comprises the party leadership), and the Ultras ("Ultra-royalists", the right wing of the party) with differing visions of how to go forward, the Moderates preferring a pivot to a more anti-capitalist and populist strategy, and the Ultras preferring to stay the course of campaigning on the monarchy. Critically, the Ultra faction also supports an absolute monarchy and the abolition of parliament, and presumably even more extreme forms of social conservatism. During the congress, the Ultras accused the Moderates of betraying their party's values and of abandoning the monarchy entirely, to which the Moderates alleged that the Ultras were "more royalist than the Queen," from which the Ultras took their name. Ultimately, the party congress settled on the platform of the Moderates, but it remains to be seen whether the Moderate-Ultra rift will deepen further.
