The Complex (SITRP: KR7c) is a country in the southwest of the Land of Chaos, bordering the country of Seolland.

Primary Goal

The Complex's primary goal is to construct the structure of the same name, hereby referred to as the Structure (SITRP: \sr8). This structure combines the spontaneous behavior of nature with the physical appearance of man-made spaces (such as offices, pools, houses, cities, etc.), creating a large, interconnected structure consisting of the aforementioned spaces. The eventual goal is to replace all territory under the Complex's control with the Structure, and once done, expand its borders to convert more of the world.

Economy

For every block placed and recognized by the OCMC as part of the Structure, one Complex Block (SITRP: ^Yl$) will be awarded to the concept[footnotes 1] who placed it. A single Complex Block is the smallest unit of currency in the Complex, and is the primary way the Complex assigns value to players or organizations.

Government and Politics

The Complex is governed by the Organization for the Construction and Maintenance of the Complex (OCMC) (SITRP: 2/3g). Membership in the OCMC is granted upon a unanimous vote of its members, and can only be revoked by either a resignation of a member, or by a unanimous vote of all other OCMC members excluding the one being removed. However, there exists one Archon (SITRP: MXy@) of the OCMC who can not be removed by vote.

Roles of the OCMC

The OCMC holds a few different roles:

  1. Coordinate tasks pertaining to the Structure. This includes the construction of the Structure, but also instrumental tasks such as the construction of farms or gathering of resources.
  2. Arbitrate what should be considered reality under the lands of the Complex. The Complex recognizes that there may be true statements that are not directly recognized by the Complex as so, but such statements have no validity in official disputes.
  3. Conduct operations to expand the number of players willing to assist in the construction of the Complex (such as by offering rewards or other compensation).

Referenda

The OCMC may, at any time, hold a referendum (SITRP: ISt.). Referenda settle disputes or other questions that may occur in the Complex, such as what land should be allocated where, or what diplomatic actions the Complex should take. A referendum can only ask a single yes or no question; if there is more than just that option, then multiple referenda must be held (possibly at the same time). What will occur if a given result passes a referendum must be declared before-hand, and the OCMC must follow through on that promise.

A referendum passes when the vote count for yes surpasses the vote count for no. Any concept may vote by spending some amount of their associated Complex Cubes, with the amount spent equal to the number of votes cast. The intent of this system is to give concepts that have contributed more to the Complex more political weight than those who haven't.

Notes

  1. In Complex terminology, a concept (SITRP: %itD) is anything that can be reasonably discussed. Any concept is technically allowed to hold Complex Blocks, but in practice usually only players, and perhaps their individual headmates (if plural) or organizations of players, would end up holding them.
