Abstinence (also known as Duzhauzech, or Duźávzeć in T'ansholubi), formerly known as Duzhauzech Territory, and even more formerly known as Duzhauzech Parish under South Amujan rule, is a territory that, as of 21 April 2025, belongs to the Grand Archduchy of T'anshilebs

Subdivisions

Duzhauzech was split into 3 subdivisions while under South Amujan rule:

It was not divided under Tanylezi rule, and it is unknown whether it will be divided under T'anshilebi rule.

History

Amuj

There was an in-construction rail connection to Duzhauzech Parish from Ngauzichig (modern day Kuzhgubsk). That's it, that's the only noteworthy thing that happened there under South Amujan rule.[1]

The Duzhauzech Parish was given to the Realm of Madness during the Amujxplosion. This happened at the same time that the Realm of Madness was looking to expand its borders and create a region to potentially generate a pale garden in its borders after the Nguhcraft Winter update. Its new territory, which included Duzhauzech, was named the Wacky West.

Due to the well-known instability of CMC's claims, the Realm of Madness chose to keep Duzhauzech distinct from the rest of the Wacky West, eventually renaming it Abstinence after the law mandating Denizens of Madness to abstain from building permanent structures there in case a potential post-Amujan state headed by CMC were to desire that land again.

Eventually, CMC expressed that they no longer wished to re-obtain Abstinence. The law requiring people to abstain from building permanent structures was no longer necessary, but wanting to keep the name, the Realm of Madness enstated a new law requiring that anyone inside the region must abstain from using the grammatical copula, referencing the practice of abstaining from copulation (sexual intercourse).

However, upon discovering that the seed would not generate a pale garden there, the Realm of Madness decided it would rescind its claim by allowing other ŋations to purchase parts of the Wacky West that they desired, marking the beginning of the BIG SHOT MINECRAP SALE!!!. As part of the sale, the newly-formed CMCic Federation purchased Abstinence with the exception of its one block-thick coast, which had been part of a claim previously purchased by the Evil Scamming Country.

During CMCic rule, Eduard Semiverius and Lux Moniridia (then known as Eduard and Iris respectively) finished the incomplete Kuzhgubsk-Duzhauzech rail connection that South Amujan Jukbuch Ian Insanius started work on during his rule over Duzhauzech, and the former two then extended this connection from Duzhauzech to the Federation's capital city of Ruxese.

Tanylezi

After the CMCic Federation's dissolution, Tanylezi purchased abstinence for fifty-six diamonds. Nothing there had happened during Tanylezi rule.

Abstinence had taken the ambiguous side of "Cafaceu" in the Tanylezi Civil War. Many assume it refers to Carl Cafaceu.

Post-Tanylezi Dissolution

After Tanylezi had dissolved and auctioned on the 15th of April, 2025, Abstinence was left without a ruling nation for 5 days, under supervision by Suqi and the Realm of Madness. On April 20th, 2025, Abstinence was purchased by T'anshilebs for 4 slabs.
