Name

Although the English word Araçana is considered a single word, its Araçanic counterpart (and etymological origin) is considered two words: arat /a.rat/, meaning city, and Çana /s̪a.na/, an endonym used by the Thanna people for themselves and for the lands surrounding the Ngasekaiv.

Geography

Araçana’s territory primarily lies in the region known in Laevanaak as Mirgak, between the Ngasekaiv Sea to the north, the Mirtsho river to the east, and the Axiruho river to the south. The island of Ŋasegak is located north-northwest of the mainland, and is connected to Araçana proper by the Two-Flag Bridge. Most of the country is oak and birch forest biomes and plains biomes, but Ŋasegak is half-covered by a dark oak forest, and near the river separating Araçanni and Rktdavsimi territory, a small savannah is found.
