Lhõnan
The lhõnan (Haltzeonian /ʎõˈnɐn/) is the national currency of the Kardonian Empire broadly and the Outpost of New Maeksikeo specifically. Its symbol is , the KISA letter lhaq with the KISA letter naq in its margin. Lhõnan values are typically expressed in octal, the base used in the Kardonian languages, like how musan values are typically expressed in seximal, the base used in Rokadong.
Mechanics
As New Maeksikeo is not in the United Ŋations or the unUnited Ŋations, the lhõnan is not pegged to any existing currency. However, in the Kardonian Empire's source, it is said to be 20⁄3 lhõnan to 1 2026 United States dollar, or nearly 8 lhõnan to the 2026 euro. The documentation originally called it simply "comparable to the exchange rate with the Chinese yuan", and these more exact values use the relevant exchange rate (US$1 being precisely CN¥6.67 according to xe.com) on July 14, 2026, the time this page was first published.[1]
Astaryuu plans to make in-lore links for the value of the lhõnan once Xhesas and Sebroar's spreadsheet on the in-roleplay value of different Nguhcraft currencies is firmly established, but for now, since the musan is estimated to be approximately three times the value of the 2026 United States dollar, the lhõnan can be assumed to have approximately 1⁄20 the purchasing power of the musan.
Unlike the musan, there are no plans to make the lhõnan function in-game. If they ever are added, they will be added as 1,000,0008 multiples ("páenhan lhõnanil", where paenhan is the name for 1,000,0008), to roughly match their in-roleplay value while being a convenient (octal) number.
