Ukoŋia ([uˈkoʊŋiə]) is a ŋation in Slabland north of The Old Kingdom, bordering Wekañu Skefo to the east and Dagalunt to the west. It also owns the North S'elivo Territory in the western part of the continent.

History

The citizens of Ukoŋia originate from the foreign planet of Piudoa ([ˈpijudoʊwə]) off in a distant dimension, their original nation bearing a very similar name to their current one. This nation is home to a spikey bipedal reptilian species, as well as a minority of Homo Sapiens. One day, a wormhole appeared in their nation, although it didn't appear to be of harm to any one or thing around it. Regardless, a few of the citizens, through some reasoning or another, decided that the only way to get rid of the wormhole was to prove to whatever entity they believed summoned it that they were worthy of being spared. Naturally, this meant displaying to the entity their funky vibes. Upon observing their amped up singing and dance moves, the wormhole entity was so offput that just for that they would banish them to the realm of Nguhcraft.

Upon arriving in this foreign land, the soon-to-be Ukoŋians wandered for 2 days before deciding on the land they would settle in to form their new ŋation. There they would reconstruct the magnificence of their original home, and to further prove themselves, hone their vibes to make them funkier and funkier.

Geography

Tauzisi

Tauzisi ([taʊˈzisi], meaning "Dawn Sea") is the capital city which occupies the large beach of the ŋation's northern coast. Its architecture makes large use of sandstone and various colors of glazed terracotta, as well as lighter shades of wood such as birch, pale, and bamboo. Given its location and the fact that it was the first city to be established, it serves as a major tourist destination. Some of its citizens are posh, while others are simply enjoying the vibes.

Hikormi

Hikormi ([hiˈkoɹmi], meaning "Heart Tree") is the city within the dark oak forest of Ukoŋia, a defining characteristic being its dense foliage. It is home to tree houses and buildings of dark oak and deepslate. The people of Hikormi are among the most spiritual of Ukoŋia, and Hikormi is a popular destination for those spiritually inclined, as it is believed that the presence of the large surrounding trees will bring one closer to the essence of nature. Its atmosphere as a result is generally very peaceful.

Kotunda

Kotunda

Kotunda ([koʊˈtundə], meaning "Strength Hold") is a city in the east of Ukoŋia. The buildings sport a distinct palette of gray, black, and orange, utilizing materials such as; basalt, deepslate, resin, honeycomb, and even pumpkins. The citizens of Kotunda are known to be among the more "tough" individuals of the ŋation, focusing largely on their construction work as well as their military.

Space-Time Watchtower

The Space-Time Watchtower is an outpost in an isolated southern part of Ukoŋia, built to observe space-time distortions throughout the ŋorld, and in particular northern Slabland. It also keeps a record of all prior known space-time events as well as any ŋations which are believed to have interacted with them.

Government

Local

Every village, town, or city in Ukoŋia is comprised of a series of guilds pertaining to different lines of work, such as agriculture, construction, or craftsmanship. Those who are the heads of their guilds are known as chieftains, and they are responsible for establishing and regulating the laws relating to the practice of their guild. If any laws of different guilds conflate with each other, it is up to the chieftain of the overseeing guild, commonly referred to as the overseer, to settle the dispute.

Any citizen may become a chieftain of a guild by challenging whoever is the current chieftain to a challenge known as a "trial". These trials are a test of skill pertaining to the work of the guild, one example of these may be an agricultural trial where the competitors must successfully grow the most crops in a region of land. The outcome of a trail will be determined by an unbiased group of observers. The winner of the trial will either remain or become the chieftain of the guild.

National

The leader of the ŋation is known as the grand overseer. This is an elected position where whoever is selected may serve indefinitely. However, at any time, any member of the legislative council (which consists of all overseers of each municipality) may call for an ejection of the current grand overseer, which all other members must vote on. If the vote to eject has reached a majority in favor, then the current grand overseer is ejected from office and an election process to select a new grand overseer will follow.

While in office, the grand overseer can establish national laws the citizens must follow, as well as add new amendments to the constitution, but changing existing articles or amendments require a majority vote from the legislative council to pass. Additionally, any overseer may propose national laws to the grand overseer to be approved, as well as reject laws or amendments made by the grand overseer through the same means as the ejection process. Local chieftains may also propose local laws to be exempted from national law to the grand overseer.

• The Ukoŋians arriving through a wormhole appears to be a very similar circumstance to the situation of the former ŋation Yysh, which Ukoŋia now occupies the land of.
• The main colors of the flag as well as the use of triangular and diamond shapes reflect the appearance of the reptilian species found in Ukoŋia and their original home. The background of the banner conveys a sunrise.
