Xarslasja Legislature

The Xarslasja Legislature (Arodjun: Vjarizinxaum Xarslasjabwa) was the parliamentary chamber of the Bezuvate of Xarslasja from early 2024 until its dissolution in April 2026. The Legislature convened every two weeks in the headquarters of the Xarslasja Legislative Authority.

In May 2026, with the ascent of Agamashuya II and the establishment of the Xaudixum, the Legislature was replaced with the Council of Constituent Counties (CCC).

Structure

There were 25 total voting seats in the Xarslasja Legislature, apportioned based on the villager population found in each of the eleven voting counties, with the maximum number of seats locked in place until further notice. As such, Yuma County had, by far, the highest representation, with 6 seats. Coconino County, Santa Cruz County, Mohave County, Yavapai County, and Carefree Isles County had two seats each. The remaining counties had one seat each. There were two non-voting seats reserved for the District of Ngibraltar and the District of Surprise, two non-voting guest seats for international dignitaries or other important figures who may wish to give a speech on issues of importance to them, and a seat for the Bezuv, named the "Veto Seat."

The Speaker of the House lead meetings, and, following the Absentia Statute, could cast a tie-breaking vote. They represented the interests of the Legislature as a whole when working with the Akuv of the XLA.

Measures were passed by simple majority, unless the measure was vetoed by the Bezuv, in which case it would be passed with a two-thirds supermajority. As the Bezuv resided in the Copper Palace of Arcosanti, Pima County (wherein Arcosanti is ubicated) was often disdained for holding a disproportionate amount of power in the Legislature.

History

The Legislature was first established in January of 2024. It had 16 total seats at the time.

During the Gu Sabah Insurgency, three seats were declared void for the participation of Coconino County and La Paz County in the rebellion.

After the Reintegration Sessions, the Legislature appointed loyal representatives to those three formerly rebellious seats and set up the incorporation of the two new counties being carved out of the Tunnan Military District.

In February 2026, the Census data and new counties created the new apportionment for the Legislature: 25 seats. It was originally supposed to be 27, but representatives from rural counties refused to allow Yuma County to have a whopping 8 representatives, and successfully lowered it to 6.

The Legislature fell into dysfunction during the Santa Cruz Crisis, and eventually the institution was effectively destroyed by Akuv Ngu during his brief stint as head of government.

Significant Sessions

When the Legislature is in Session, a sequence of significant votes relating to important matters are typically referred to as "sessions." The Legislature, having been formalized on September 1st, 2024, began its first important sessions on September 17th.

The Fiduciary Sessions were a series of votes that decided which economic union of southern Thasusa the nation should join.

In light of the Coup Sabah, the Legislature began sessions to decide the fate of the Xarslasja Port Authority to prevent something of the sort from happening again.

The Reintegration Sessions brought to a head the challenges of incorporating new territory into the nation and the controversy associated with the October-November 2025 Census, causing the Census Rush.
