Operation: Usable Transit is a bill passed by the Xarslasja Legislature in early 2026 granting federal funds to counties to convert all national rails from one-lane routes to two-lane routes and redesign the stations along the way as necessary.
This was notable for being an usurpation of the Bezuv's power to manage construction projects. The Bezuv, Agamashuya I, had been missing for over two months at this point, so the measure was passed anyway.
Pre-Crisis (January-March 2026)
The two-lane conversion process began along the Core Xarslasja Line, starting at the newly expanded Yuma Nexus Station in Yuɱa. New stations were built in Blythe, the "Old North Border," Tunnan, and Ashton. In Ashton, the line connects to itself, completing the loop.
The conversion on the Nogales-Arcosanti Line began in February. This began with a brand new station at Gila Bend, and vast expansion of the old station near Arcosanti, and a complete demolition and reconstruction of the Flagstaff Station. The two-lane conversion continued through the ruins of Tucson and the Tach3on Site, before progress was abruptly stopped in Nogales due to the chaos of the Santa Cruz Crisis.
During the crisis, some progress on the project continued in Sedona, where its local station was doubled in size to accomodate a second two-lane railway, and the Sedona CenRail station was modified to accomodate the new two-lane rail that passes through it.
Post-Crisis (May 2026-???)
After the establishment of Sjarm Adax as Xaudixuv, the project resumed in earnest. The two-lane conversion of the Acacialands Line was completed. A new extension of the Nogales-Arcosanti Line was made to connect to Sedona Station in its new available space, with plans to continue the line to the fledgling town of Show Low. Finally, the xection of line connecting Ajo to Nogales was completely redug and rebuilt to avoid crossing into what was now Puan territory.
The "golden spike" that reactivated the Nogales-Arcosanti Line was laid the morning of May 31st, 2026.
The Xarslasja-Pua Friendship Canal was made navigable by early June 2026, awaiting further decoration.
New ghasts were raised for the Xarslasja Ghast Corps, and several horses were raised as well. New horse stables were built along TBLI routes to facilitate horse travel throughout the country and, eventually, Thasusa as a whole.
Three "Rapid Access Lines" were constructed in July and August 2026 to serve direct, nonstop rail access to Yuma Nexus from Ashton, Far Harbor, and Sun City West. The shop in Yuma Nexus Station, "Mjemjem's," was completed as well.
By August 31st, the Nogales-Arcosanti connection to Show Low was completed.
Remaining Goals
The following goals remain in the completion of this project. Some goals were set by the now-defunct Xarslasja Legislature and some were set by Agamashuya II.
- installation of horse stables in rural areas along Thasusa By Land Initiative routes in Xarslasja and Pua (8 completed as of 8/24/2026)
- two-lane conversion of the Olympic Line from Ash Fork Station to Tonto Station
- completion of the Far Harbor-Polnareff Land undersea rail connection
- training of at least more 3 new ghasts and 3 new horses to serve the air and land routes (as of 8/24/2026)
