On the morning of October 25th at around 7:30AM Arizona Time, the SS Death was fired upon by defensive weapons on the northern side of Shea Island. However, due to the actions of East Puan sappers the first salvo was a complete failure and caused significant damage to the northern defenses causing the XPA forces to scramble to build a new TNT cannon. The SS Death returned fire causing some minor exterior damage and major damage within the walls of the complex before finally succumbing to the TNT cannon fire and sinking. The SS Beetle was fired upon from the southern defenses but many of the initial shots missed entirely. The SS Beetle returned fire and made many direct impacts on the western and southern walls before also succumbing to the fire from the defenses. Shortly after that XPA ground forces began firing upon the SS Conscription from the shore, however, many of their shots missed and hit the Amujan ship nearby instead. The XPA ship west of the Conscription began firing and also largely missed. The most critical damage occurred following numerous unsuccessful attempts by XPA marine forces to board the ship. The final attempt was successful and they planted a bomb in the captain's cabin but it was successfully defused. Following this the XPA troops planted a secondary bomb in the bilge which was detonated and the ship was heavily damaged but remained afloat. | |||
