State of Confusion

The State of Confusion ([stejʔᵗ ʌv kʰʌɲɥ̊uːʒʌ̃])^{[citation needed]} is a paradoxical joke ŋation created on 22 January 2025 by the Confused Idealist.

Banner and flag

The banner is the "Flag of Theseus": a white flag with a black per fess and a black inverted per fess.

Language

There is only one official language of the State of Confusion, which is Evil Scamming language; however, it is also illegal to use, and use of it carries the death penalty.

The demonym used in English is "Confused", which also acts as a title for its citizens (not its non-citizen leaders). The title "State of Confusion" usually takes the definite article.

Territory

The State of Confusion "owns all lands that don't own themselves." What this means is unclear.

It may or may not own a region of the Condominium of Chaos, only the y-levels -128 up to -96, which it purchased (hypothetically) for -1 slabs and a donkey.

Politics

The State of Confusion is a sophocracy. Only people who do not want to rule the State of Confusion can do so - more specifically, anyone who sincerely expresses desire not to rule it is automatically made (co-)ruler. It is possible to abdicate the position of ruler, however in a classic Catch-22, if somebody asks to abdicate then it's taken as a sign that they do not wish to be ruler and therefore must remain as one. Rulers do not necessarily have to be citizens.

The current ruler of the State of Confusion are:

• Idealist, who founded it but does not particularly want to rule it and so is de jure ruler.
• Suqi, who stated desire not to rule it without realising how it worked, and therefore became co-ruler inadvertently.
• W.D. Ngaster, who didn't want to when asked by Idealist.
• Google Gemini, which claimed that "as an AI, [they] don't have desires or the capacity to govern".
• Beberkonnie, which reacted automatically to a message asking it to react if it didn't want to be leader.
• Popping Corn, who claimed not to want to be ruler because they were "busy enough now".
• Blue 595, who at first stated her desire to be ruler and was disqualified, before then claiming to have said this in order not to be ruler, and being convincing enough to be made ruler, before finally revealing that she did in fact want to be ruler all along.
• Apollyon, who simply didn't want to.
• Coconuttishere, who didn't want to because it wasn't a cult.

In addition, Xhesas and Adnagaporp have official status as a "ruled", since it was decided unilaterally by Idealist that anyone who asks about being a ruled, immediately becomes a ruled.

Entity2049 has the official status of being "not a ruler but also not not a ruler [...] neither ruler nor not-ruler" because they didn't care if they were ruler or not.

Admiral Warstalker, the top general of the State of Confusion

The State of Confusion is/is not a member of the UnUŊ and is currently at war with "anyone who sues the UnUŊ". It has also stated that in the event of a Ŋorld War it will fight for both sides simultaneously, and Admiral Warstalker, the country's top general, has announced that if war breaks out between Imerchal and Sirenguard it will "also⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀join".

The government does not necessarily recognise its own authority.

Citizenship

Only nationals can become citizens of the State of Confusion, and only citizens can become nationals of the State of Confusion. Besides Idealist who has both citizenship and nationality due to having created it, the only other person to achieve them both is Chronos who claimed to have had them since before it existed, and Idealist decided it was paradoxical enough to allow.

Culture

In the State of Confusion, the mathematical constant pi is equal to pi+1.

The State of Confusion's main import is random people tricked into being rulers, and its main export is massive obsidian pillars.

History

Edit Conflict

On the 22th of January 2025, the day it was founded, the Confused Idealist was correcting its information on the wiki when Astaryuu changed its name's IPA transcription, resulting in what was probably the bloodiest war in the history of Nguhcraft - the Edit Conflict. Idealist was able to eventually form a truce, albeit at the cost of great loss of letters.
