The Old Citadel

The Citadel or Old Citadel is a structure located in the Southeast corner of the world, on Citadel Island. It was brought over from the season 1 world. It seems to have some connections to Rabo, as there are references to Him in the basement of the building.

This book was found in front of the portal in the basement of the Citadel.

Try as we might, we cannot close the portal; seal it instead; leave it be, forgotten in time.

Places of interest

The Citadel is a walled castle with two main buildings, as well as a garden and a stable.

Garden

The garden contains a fountain and lots of flowers and greenery. It is located in front of the entrance to the main building.

Lobby

The gate of the Old Citadel does not lead directly into the main building. Instead, one has to walk around the main building to the garden in order to find the entrance. The lobby has stairs up to the bedrooms, and behind those stairs is a set of stairs that goes down into the basement

Guest Room of Guesting

On the floor above the lobby, there are several rooms with beds and some decoration, the most notable of which being the "Guest Room of Guesting". There are also some empty rooms.

Rooftop garden

There is another garden located on the roof of the main building. Besides plants, there are two statues of what appears to be lions. They are both made mainly out of andesite, but one has a granite mane, and the other has a diorite one.

Library

By going down the stairs behind the main staircase in the lobby, one can reach the basement. By going forward after going down the stairs, one reaches the library. The library has three floors. Among the regular bookshelves, there are sometimes chiselled bookshelves that used to contain powerful enchanted books. There is also a hidden room on the bottom floor that was originally hidden behind a couple of bookshelves.

Portal

By turning to the left after going down the stairs to the basement and then going down a corridor, one reaches the portal. It was originally guarded by two powerful skeletons on the balconies on either side of the portal. In front of the portal is a book, namely the "Research Notes".

Other basement rooms

There are a number of other rooms located in the corridors of the basement, some of which contained loot.

  This room contains an enchanting table and a brewing stand, among other stuff.

  This room seems to be an armoury.

• 

  This room has a chess board with an ore theme.

• 

  The "Praise be Lord Rabo" room, as it appeared before it was defaced.

Dining hall

In a separate building from the main one, there is what appears to be a dining hall. It has two large tables and a throne.
