Yija /ˈji.dʒə/ (Kyawcenni: , KLA: Yija /ji.ɖʐə/, lit. femboy(s)) is the administrative capital of Shingtsun and the largest city in the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen. The headquarters of the United Ŋations and Cenrail are located here.
The city is located in the Yijan Savanna on the western coast of Shingtsun and on the estuary of the Chire river, close to the border with Hentzo. It is built mainly out of acacia wood, befitting its location in a savanna biome.

Yija's old Iron Farm, now located in North Yija, first started out as a Marcian, later Kyawcenni, outpost in late December 2023. Back then, the village was home to only a single villager, who was subsequently enslaved for the iron farm, along with two other villagers from modern-day Esasne. This farm has since been the main source of iron in Kyaw Cen and has later even lead to the foundation of the city of Yija and the Kyawcenni expansion and migration to the area in February 2024.
On 4 February 2024, the Kyawcenni name Yija was first mentioned for a newly constructed Kyawcenni settlement south of the old village. The first building was the Oak House. Yija station was constructed right after.
On 21 February 2025, Yija changed its flag from the magenta-pink-white-light blue-white-pink-magenta banner to an alternating yellow and red banner with five stripes in total, starting with yellow.
Since 1 November 2025, the city council has begun a massive renovation campaign, with lots of new buildings and a new signage system planned.

Tram and v1
The Yija Tram (Kyawcenni: Taux Yijane [tɑ̂ç ji.ɖʐɛɰ̃]) is a tramway network consisting of two lines in the central and northern parts of the city.
On 26 August 2025, the first tram line was opened, going from the Cenrail station (Yija Pfr) to the northwestern corner of Esem Kuwi Square (Esem Kuwi). On 23 September, it was extended eastward from the Cenrail station, all the way to the eastern coast of the island (Monюment).
On 5 and 6 November 2025, the Yijan Tram network was expanded with the final station on the T1, closing the loop, and a new T2 line from Rombu all the way to Esasne.
The tram is operated by the company Transport for Yija (TfY). An underground metro line to a future airport is planned by the company.
On 25 January 2026, TfY opened up the first underground metro line: The v1 from Yija Pfr to Airport Y
