Jotlond, officially the Kingdom of Jotlond (Jutish: Keningrík Jotlond /ˈkeːnɪŋˌʀɛi̯k ˈjɔtˌlɔnt/) is a country located in northwestern Ŋafrica on the Nalinakal Sea (Jutish: Ôstsê), across the sea from Zotazil and Maraśa and south of Oressia.

History

Origin

The Jutish people are a group of Saxo-Syzkynic speakers of mixed origins, but primarily hailing from Thasusa in a land not very far from the Saxo-Syzkynic urheimat, theorized to either be East Saxland or the northern reaches of Saxland proper. The Jutish language bears strong affinities for the Saxish language and the Dvilish language, thereby also having a strong connection with English and it is theorized by some to form a sub-branch of Saxic with Lesser Saxic called Saxo-Jutish.

Migration

Following the dissolution of Þunan Qumreá and the chaos ensuing immediately afterwards, the Jutes fled the warring states and conquests by neighboring lands and migrated away from Thasusa. This migration is known to have occurred in at least three distinct waves of Saxic-branch speakers from Thasusa: the first and largest wave from east or north Saxland which included some high profile figures within the old government of the Reá, the second wave with a large component of people originally from Hanebrug who had lived in close proximity with the Jutes since the collapse of their own country, and the third wave mainly composed of Fishlanders also fleeing from the collapse of Þunan Qumreá. After having sailed nearly to the edge of the world, the Jutes happened upon a settlement around the area of current Kattested on the coast of Bloemenlond and there they disembarked and began marking their claim to the land. Shortly thereafter the settlement of Dornwík was founded inland on a penninsula in the Miermoer and on the 26th of May 2025, the Jutish settlers assembled in the first Jutish Parliament (Jutish: Jootske Ríksdach) and proclaimed the nation of Jotlond.

Return of Seo

SeoReadeHenn, who was once Commander of the Armies and later the absolute ruler of Þunan Qumreá before being deposed in a civil war by rivals during the Ńápińe and entering a many-year-long exile following her defeat, reemerged from her trials in Jotlond in early October 2025. Though reviled in the Śácamþaśá-speaking lands and in Maraśa, she was revered as a hero in Jotlond (being herself of Saxon-Jutish ancestry), and from her own personal popularity she convinced the Jutish Assembly to crown her Queen Seo I — officially styled as Her Majesty Queen Seo, by the Grace of Ŋod, Queen and Savior[2] of the Jutes and Saxons (Jutish: Heer Majesteit Keningin Seo, bí Ŋods Naden, Keningin end Redster der Joten end Saksen). Thereafter the old government was dissolved and the first elections were called to select the members for Her Majesty's First Jutish Parliament, held October 15.

References and Footnotes

  1. Jotlond does not technically have a written constitution, however there is a significant body of custom and precedent restricting the theoretically rather extensive powers of the monarchy over the parliament and the country as a whole.
  2. This is a translation of the Śácamþaśá title Rijyc, which she held for a period and has never relinquished her claim on.
