Tauranga Puawai (sometimes: Taranga Puawai or Turanga Puawei in East Pua) is a former colony of West Pua that became independent following the reintegration of the continental Floracracy after the end of the Chilled War. It is located south of the Pua region almost entirely within the Amujan Sea. To its east is the Blighted Shrine guardian farm as well as Realm of Madness and to its south lies Latium Regnātum. It is part of the Land of Chaos continental mass.
It is uncertain when and by whom the archipelago was discovered but it was claimed by Pontifex Skrungk for West Pua due to its proximity and the abundance of alliums. It was thought to be the only place alliums grow natively in all of West Pua. Tauranga Puawai became an independent nation led by Skrungk following the end of the Chilled War.
Prehistory
Tauranga Puwai was formerly a colony of West Pua. After many months of nonstop construction on the Church of the Allium, the people of West Pua began to grow weary of the “seemingly impossible task” and some citizens began to outright refuse to continue working on the project, stating that the construction was a poor use of West Pua’s manpower. This, combined with the Blue Scare, caused instability and unrest throughout West Pua. This started a coup that exiled the West Puan government to Tauranga Puawai, where they made it an independent nation.
Government
The government of Tauranga Puawai functions as an Absolutist Theocracy, where Pontifex Skrungk holds power. The Pontifex also has a council of Disciples that help enforce his will, called the Petalage. Disciples of the Petalage are appointed by the Pontifex himself, and can act as an authority for matters that don't need the Pontifex's direct attention. Besides the Petalage, there are 4 major Administrations that work to keep the country running smoothly: The PIP Administration, The Agricultural Administration, The Transportation Administration, and The Defense Administration.
The PIP Administration
The PIP (Puawai Information Protection) Administration is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and protecting intelligence to support national security. They playa vital role in preventing "PIP Violations", where Intelligence could be leaked to enemies if not careful.
The Agricultural Administration
The Agricultural Administration is responsible for regulating farming and animal safety throughout the country, as well as prioritizing wildlife preservation. The Conservation of the Flower Forest is the Administrations main goal.
The Transportation Administration
The Transportation Administration is responsible for building and maintaining the railways that connect the island of Tauranga Puawai. The Transportation Administration is currently working on setting up a local railway network.
The Defense Administration
The Defense Administration is in charge of keeping the citizens of Tauranga Puawai safe from foreign and domestic threats to the TP way of life.
Religion
Tauranga Puawai is a Theocracy, the religion and the government are one. They practice, Florism, a religion based on the worship of the flowers. After the collapse of the West Pua, TP moved away from the worship of the Allium alone, and now worship all flowers. The practice of subsects Florism is welcome as well.
Economy
The Puan Unity Argent is the official currency of Tauranga Puawai.
Tauranga Puawai joined the STCMA on 2/27/25, thus changing their official currency to the Puan Unity Argent, and replacing the West Puan Taara.
