The Realm of Madness (informally known as Madness or RoM), is a mountainous and swampy region on the northern part of the Land of Chaos, south of the Sea of Fortune. It was created on August 3rd, 2024. The country embraces chaos and villainy as its core concepts, and is based on the Ninjago TV series' Realm of Madness with similar properties.
Districts
Civilian
- Administration - Named after The Administration from Ninjago, the primary location of the realm's government buildings. While this purpose implies a degree of seriousness, it is equally as unserious as the other districts. Civilians are allowed to live wherever they please in this district.
- Bad to the Land - A badlands biome meant for obtaining terracotta.
- Door District - A civilian district characterized by the overwhelming presence of doors being constantly opened and closed due to interaction with sculk sensors.
- The Swamp - A civilian district characterized by a swamp biome.
Non-Civilian
- The Dark Island - Based on the Dark Island from Ninjago, an island with a dark past that influenced the origin of the Realm of Madness. Citizens are not allowed to build or break anything due to its importance to the lore of the region.
- Uŋuŋəŋŋium - Also known as 119ium, this is a district far from the mainland in Cornertopia where there are no laws and the government explicitly allows griefing and theft, contrary to the server rules. Anyone from anywhere is allowed to do anything inside of Uŋuŋəŋŋium, as long as it is guaranteed to remain within the borders.
Culture & Ideologies
Cursdays
Cursdays, instead of holidays, are celebrated. See here for a list of all cursdays.
Principles
The Realm of Madness is founded on 5 main principles (PNICE) that contribute to its vibe. There are 5 cultural offices dedicated to each principle. Officers help give other citizens a more maddedning experience in various ways.
PRINCIPLE | Description | Office Duties | Officers |
---|---|---|---|
Power | The Realm of Madness should be a place where people can grow stronger (something about XP farms) | In charge of XP farm maintenance and getting up in everyone's face about how powerful they are. They have permission to attack players for no reason, but only kill with permission. | |
Nonsense | Doing and building things that are pointless is encouraged | In charge of nothing. | KateThePanPlate, Zhivämky |
Insanity | Doing and building things that are detrimental is encouraged | In charge of making things slightly more inconvenient for people and making up arbitrary rules for citizens to follow (which last only one Minecraft day cycle). | Zhivämky |
Corruption | People are encouraged to act differently than they would in any other country | In charge of making sure sculk is not damaged to the point it reveals real ground underneath and helping the Lord make the government more corrupt via bribery, embezzelment, lobbying, etc. | |
Evil | Things should look evil in the Realm of Madness | In charge of general decor, pranks, and ensuring all markets are actual scams. | KateThePanPlate |
Party Ideologies
Main article: List of political parties in the Realm of Madness
The Realm of Madness currently has 12 political parties which exchange power over the dictatorship and are based on what Lord Suqi's gender is at the time. Political parties also host parties related to politics in their offices every once in a while.
Government
Structure
The Realm of Madness is headed by the Lord, who has absolute power in the country. Beneath the Lord are two government offices: the Office of Insanity and the Ninjoffice. While named similarly, the other PNICE offices are not a part of the government. The Office of Insanity and the Ninjoffice have no internal structure and may have any number of members.
The Realm of Madness fluctuates between two states at random: a dictatorship and an anarchy. Suqi alone holds the right to declare a change of state, the government comes into and out of existence upon their will. During the dictatorship, all information on the government applies and only a member of the government may represent the country interŋationally, but they are all forbidden from communicating with each other about foreign relations in order to create confusion amongst themselves and the interŋational community.
During anarchy, the government has no power over the people. All laws of the country are revoked, however it is still not allowed to grief and steal (building in unauthorized areas is considered griefing). While in anarchy, the Realm of Madness retains its status as a sovereign region, merely one without a regulatory body. Its sovereignty is enforced by its official borders on the map drawn by Ætérnal. The Realm of Madness also retains interŋational relations, but they may be decreased in quality as any resident of the Realm of Madness may represent the entire region. Anarchy representatives are discouraged from using critical thinking and proper judgement while under the role of representative– unless said recklessness may create an interŋational incident.
In the interest of keeping the same atmosphere, residents are encouraged to uphold the PNICE principles. All PNICE Officers must still preform their duties in anarchy, except for the Officers of Insanity who only retain their duty to make things slightly more inconvenient. The Ninjoffice is out of a job.

Function
The Lord's duties consist of engaging in political corruption, harassing the plebians, border issues, infrasturcure, and laws. The Office of Insanity's government duties are the aforementioned "making up arbitrary rules for citizens to follow". Creating inconveniences are not in their job description, but instead an encouraged side-gig. In the event that a member of the Realm desires to build something pointless or detrimental, the Office of Insanity is required to assist to some extent. The Ninjoffice is in charge of managing the Bank of Evil, making sure people drink THE MADDENING during purchases, and ensuring everyone knows how the currencies work. Per the name, Ninjofficers must utilize stealth and funny ninja shennanigans. While the Lord does hold a lot of power theoretically, citizens have a large range of activities they can do in the Realm of Madness. They may also casually discuss government issues with government officials at any time if they feel it's needed.

History
Age of Light
In the beginning, an explorer discovered a strange land that emitted an intoxicating odor. They initially stayed to learn more about the area, but over time the odor corrupted their mind and caused them to go mad. They believed themselves the Lord of the land and founded the Realm of Madness. The explorer desired to spread darkness across the land to attain their dark potential and began a search for how. Deep inside a cavern, they discovered an ancient city covered in a dark substance that exuded pure evil. They found several sources of this darkness and brought them back to the Realm of Madness. There, they began construction of a giant machine that would create monsters whose death fueled the growth of the darkness. The madness also possessed the explorer to dig a hole to the bottom of the ŋearth, for some reason (thank you to Ætérnal for removing the bedrock).
Seeing the potential for spreading the influence of evil throughout the ŋorld, the Realm of Madness joined the United Ŋations and allied itself with nations ruled by friends of the Lord: KateThePanPlate, Fin, and MAGNVS. Although, MAGNVS poses significant resistance to the idoeologies of the Realm of Madness, and Fin poses an insurmountable amount of idgaf energy.
Age of Balance
The Age of Balance began with the Festival of Evil where Nguhcraft players were invited to the Realm of Madness to witniss the beginning of the spreading of darkness thanks to the completion and first activation of the monster generating machine. Much fun was had.
The formation of the Evil Scamming Country piqued the interests of the realm due to its particularly evil name and intended borders[1]. The Lord realized the two nations have overlapping interests and an alliance was forged.
A battle between the monsters in the generating machine prompted their revolution against the Realm of Madness where they broke part of the machine, allowing water to flow down onto the mountain, bringing the monsters down safely with it. They swiftly took over the mountain where the Lord held their belongings. The Lord was forced to flee to the bottomless pit with what little they could recover. Since then, the mountain taken over by monsters became known as the Mountain of Madness
On 11 October 2024, a legendary hero known as Zhivämky reconquered the Mountain of Madness from the monsters.
On 21 October 2024, the Realm of Madness entered its first phase of anarchy. The only rules left are the server rules and no-contact areas.
On 22 October 2024, The Realm of Madness obtained the Evil Flux Capacitor.
On 18 November 2024, ghasts begin to invade the Realm of Madness.
Age of Darkness
The Age of Darkness has not yet come to be, but is inevitable.
Economy
Currencies
There are two currencies used by the Realm of Madness: AntiSlabs, a non-renewable currency used for serious exhanges and interŋational trade, and THE MADDENING, a local easily-renewable currency used for fun.
AntiSlabs
An antislab (as, -s, or s̄) is worth –1 slab. This value is enforced via the destruction of a petrified oak slab in fire, lava, or the void. Receiving an antislab is equivalent to receiving debt. Antislabs come in the form of a book stating that whoever is in possession of it owes [the player who the antislab was made for] 1 slab. Antislabs may be used in circulation or they may be destroyed if someone actually pays someone a slab or a slab-worth of items.
Purchases using antislabs come in two forms: honest deals and evil scamming. Honest deals are purchases where the customer also receives goods and antislabs, which removes the debt for the merchant in exchange for giving away goods. Evil scamming is when the merchant sells an item that would be detrimental to the customer in exchange for receiving an antislab. Both objects would have negative, but equal, value to both parties.
The incentive for people to not get rid of antislabs is that they can give them to other people instead and make them poorer. But, it is still ideal to hold on to some of one's antislabs in case they wish to involve themselves in evil scamming.
THE MADDENING
THE MADDENING (™) is a currency that uses suspicious stew. It uses all the different types. The more detrimental the suspicious stew is, the more valuable it is. Due to it being impossible to tell which suspicious stew has which effect, a merchant receiving a payment of THE MADDENING must drink it in order to guarantee its value. It is unwise to trust a customer's word because in the Realm of Madness, the customer is always wrong. After THE MADDENING is drunk, all that will be left is an unlabeled bowl, meaning it can no longer be used after it is obtained. This is beneficial because it reduces inflation and reduces the amount of THE MADDENING in everyone's storage, since it would normally be inconvenient to have a lot of it due to it being unable to stack.
THE MADDENING is renewable, and thus worthless compared to non-renewable currencies, however it is still used in the Realm of Madness for fun. It is inadvisable to use THE MADDENING for any trade outside of the Realm of Madness as it likely will not be accepted.
THE MADDENING may be provided by the Bank of Evil to those in need or created in a citizen's personal farm.
Value in THE MADDENING | ||
---|---|---|
Wither Stew | 1 million | |
Poison Stew | 1 thousand | |
Blindness Stew | 100 | |
Weakness Stew | 10 | |
Unknown Stew | 1 | OR the value discovered after being drunk |
Saturation Stew | –1 | |
Night Vision Stew | –10 | |
Jump Boost Stew | –100 | |
Regeneration Stew | –1 thousand | |
Fire Resistance Stew | –10 thousand |
While THE MADDENING is technically worthless in comparison, 1,000,000 THE MADDENING can still be traded for an antislab. Legal tender ought to include "THE MADDENING", "TM", or "™" alongside the stew's type or value.
Markets
Every market in the Realm of Madness must be a scam, on top of the already strange nature of trading.
Bank of Evil
The Bank of Evil is a large building where the Realm of Madness government handles transactions. It keeps track of people who antislabs were made for, so that they can know how much is owed to them. It is imperative that the Bank of Evil be alerted of any antislabs being destroyed in exchange for a slab so that account balances can be accurately updated. These balances are publicly viewable in case people want to decide who should be made poorer.
Inside the Bank of Evil is the Vault of Evil, which contains farms for all the necessary materials of creating THE MADDENING and antislabs, as well as a system for confirming the amount of destroyed petrified oak slabs.
Forced Bankruptcy
The government may choose to make someone go bankrupt (in antislabs, but not THE MADDENING). When this happens, the government does not take your money, but it does wipe away all the debt everyone owes you, making all antislabs signifying a debt to you worthless. There will be no elaboration. It is important to check the Bank of Evil to see if anyone is bankrupt so that worthless antislabs are not used.
National Identity
Citizens
A player does not need to be a citizen in order to live in the Realm of Madness (unless a temporary rule against it was decided by the Officer of Insanity). However, only citizens can join an office of PNICE. On Fridays, citizens can participate in a raffle where something random is chosen by the Lord or an Officer of Insanity and given to a lucky or unlucky winner. Raffle prizes can include items, land ownership, government announcements, perilous journeys, abuse of power, and more! To become a citizen, one must die on top of a sculk catalyst, write a short sentence in "The Booc" (a book that compiles sentences in order to form a story), answer 5 questions wrongly, and pledge to uphold the PNICE principles.
During anarchy, the status of citizen becomes meaningless. Instead, the Realm of Madness can only involve residents.
Official Languages
- English - A germanic language used as the lingua franca throughout Nguhcraft.
- Ninjargon - A cipher of English used in the Ninjago universe
- Evil Scamming language - the language spoken in the Evil Scamming Country
Recognized Languages
- !Xóõ - An endangered dialect group spoken in Namibia and Botswana, known for having the greatest number of clicks and total consonants of any natural language. The usage of this language in the Realm of Madness is significantly limited because publicly available resources are scarce and difficult to find.
- !Xonglish - A hybrid of !Xóõ and English.
- Evilllang - A cursed conlang based on being wrong, cartoonishly evil, ungrammatical, and illegal.
- Ikai Taa - A condialect group based on !Xóõ incompletely generated by A.I. and intended to be completed by a human.
- Zaekuu - An invasive language from another dimension.
Flag
The flag imitates the landscape of the Ninjago Realm of Madness, but includes its own symbolism as well. The bright vertical purple line represents how the country is a beacon of evil in the world of Nguhcraft; the black flower represents the spread of corruption, like a sculk bloom; the red circle is an eye representing viewing the world through a distorted lens; and the dark gradient from above symbolizes both the idolization of the night and how the Realm of Madness is coated by darkness.
Structures
Constructed
- Bottomless Pit - A half-chunk hole that leads to the void.
- Ghast Spawner - A nether portal leading to platforms that spawn ghasts. This was constructed to fill the skies in the Realm of Madness with ghasts. The ghast spawner also spawns magma cubes which are funneled into a death pit to fuel sculk bloom.
- Mountain of Madness - Named after Ninjago's Mountain of Madness, it is a mountain atop which a mob farm was built to spread sculk.
- Rails of Madness - The rail line that connects the Realm of Madness to the Transfortunate Cenrail line. The rails leaving the realm are a straight, speedy line. The rails entering the realm are a roller coaster of death that sometimes necessitate the rider to constantly eat food. The roller coaster has the power to kill a player with full health and enchanted netherite armor if they don't constantly regenerate health.
Planned
- Bank of Evil - The information center and producer of the Realm of Madness' currencies.
- Illegal Museum - A museum of illegal items on Nguhcraft that players have managed to obtain.
- Lord's Castle - Where the Lord occasionally shouts oddly specific insults at everyone in a French accent.
- Offices of PNICE - Buildings dedicated to each of the 5 offices of PNICE.
- Political Parties - Buildings dedicated to parties corresponding to each of the 12 political parties in the Realm of Madness
- Sanctuaries of the Golden Weapons - Minecraft builds of the locations where the Golden Weapons from Ninjago were found. Also used as the homes of the Ninjoffice.
- Caves of Despair - A mine into a cave system where the Scythe of Quakes is hidden and guarded by a dragon.
- Ice Temple - A temple of ice where the Shurikens of Ice are hidden and guarded by a dragon.
- Floating Ruins - The ruins of a floating city where the Nunchuks of Lightning are hidden, guarded by a dragon, and generating a constant lightning storm.
- Fire Temple - A temple built at a volcano where the Sword of Fire is hidden and guarded by a dragon. It has a connection to the Underworld (in Nguhcraft, realized as the nether) allowing a crossover.
- Silverfish Farms - Several farms throughout the territory to promote sculk growth. After sculk reaches the borders, they will be converted to XP farms.
- Station of Madness - The rail station that the rails of madness connect to.
- The Moon - A giant moon as close to build limit as possible that is both far from land and can have development on it.
- The unhouse - A house designed to be the most inconvenient and dangerous house.
