Pihi, officially The Autonomous Oblast of Pihi is a puppet state of Pua located on the north coast of the Amujan Sea, comprising all of Baerleigha Island and some additional land to the south. It is surrounded on all sides by Pua with the exception of its southern coast.
Etymology
Pihi is a Maori/Toki Pua word meaning 'sprout'. This name was given to the region to signify its partial separation from Pua and the young nature of the region as a separate entity.
Prehistory
As with the larger nations of East Pua and West Pua, Pihi was formed from a faction in the Puan Civil War. The smallest of the three major factions, it aligned itself with the Puan Workers' Party in order to secure partial independence and self-governance following the war.
History
The contemporary history of Pihi is very much tied to the history of Pua given their ideological, political, religious, economic and physical connections. Since the establishment of the country, Pihi has been a longstanding and fervent supporter of Pua.
The Chilled War
Due to Pihi's alignment with East Pua the small nation has supported the larger nation throughout the Chilled War in many aspects of the event.
Geography
Northern Pihi
Northern Pihi, also known as Baerleigha Island, is the main island of the nation. The founding members of Pihi had initially noted a small area of land connecting the island to the land in the southeast, before promptly excavating the area in order to make it a proper island, thus making Baerleigha Island a man-made island.
Southern Pihi
The southern region of Pihi consists of the landmass to the south of Baerleigha Island, the only thing of note in the southern region is a small village with few residents.
