Pua Takiwā Address

The Pua Takiwā Address is a speech given to the people of West Pua by Pontifex Skrungk on October 14th, following the events of the Amujxplosion and its effects on the surrounding Pua region. The name Pua Takiwā roughly translates to Pua Regional Address. A transcript of the speech is below:

"People of West Pua, these have been difficult times for us all. The Amujxplosion, and the events following, have had a major impact on our way of life. But we cannot stop fighting for the security of us and our allies.

The creation and integration of the Taara has been a large step in the right direction regarding the recovery of our economy, but there is still the issue of the land that was formerly under the control of North Amuj, South Amuj, and Igeþa. For the time being, the Kingdom of Kyaw Cen has been helping protect most of the land by declaring it a mandate of the UNg. The upcoming UNg meeting will be very important to us, as it will decide whether we become a member, as well as decide the fate of Amuj.

The General Secretary of East Pua created Order No. 227 in the interests of keeping land of the Pua (region) in Puan hands. This has caused mixed reactions among us all, because while we worry about East Pua annexing even more land, the concept of Repunification is one that both East and West Puans hold dear to their hearts, it is one thing that brings us together. No matter what happens, I can only hope that it is resolved peacefully during the 19th UNg meeting.

The Amujxplosion has not just caused turmoil for us. Our neighbors in Xarslasja are more divided than ever and need our support. Agamashuya went against both his word and our trust by choosing to break his total neutrality and side with East Pua in the South Thasusan Common Market Agreement. This is something that West Pua has tried to forgive and stay in their good graces for the sake of peace. However, due to the events of the Amujxplosion further strengthening East Pua at the expense of our own stability, our allies in Xarslasja have taken matters into their own hands and revolted against Agamashuya to support a more just cause.

Gu Sabah, the leader of the Xarslasja Port Authority, has been a major supporter of West Pua, and we plan to give him and the Xarslasja Port Authority our full support during the Coup, even if we must divert resources from the construction of the Church. Naturally, East Pua has sided with Agamashuya, and has already sent naval support into the region to assist the Xarslasja Legislative Authority. We will be trying our best to aid the Port Authority without escalating the ongoing Chilled War further than it needs to be.

I’m disappointed in how this has been playing out, because I saw Order No. 227 as a way to bring the Puas together, but East Pua needs to prove to the world that they are not motivated by greed before tensions can start to fall. They have thrown their weight around time and time again with very few to stand in their way. This is not the way of The Higher Order, and we will continue to fight for what is right, even if we cannot match the might of East Pua.

To Agamashuya, I tell you this: East Pua will use this as an opportunity to influence your country. No foreign power should seek to benefit from another’s suffering, and I urge you to be cautious. I hope that the conflict in Xarslasja can end peacefully, but we will do what we must to support Gu Sabah."
